i was running around making many stops. i run with ECT on all the time but at one of my stops in a hurry started truck and forgot to engage ECT. was at a light behind 2 cars waiting for traffic to clear to make a left turn. when the traffic cleared the cars in front of me turned left my turn, a FED-X truck was coming in the opposite direction but was just enough time for me to turn left although i needed to do it quick. pushed on gas and NOTHING pushed more and still nothing then floored it and made the turn. i have the parts to do the ECT mod but just have not done it but will be doing it very soon. what a major difference it is without ECT in that situation.

I just S, mode (or afterburner #1) around town when I need to do some maneuvering, and ECT (afterburner #2) when I want more power.
I can see how that Fed-X truck would want you using etc all the time though.

    Cheers!

Mine is fine too. I never use ETC. Glad I'm not having problems that are being posted. Works well enough, when I go in for service. I'm going to tell them no tranny updates.

Mine does too, Just not enough. Throttle response feels like 56k dial up. ECT is like running DSL at least

I love my A/T no problems, but A/T drivers are a lazy bunch and want the auto to do everything so they can talk on the phone text or anything else but drive. I can't wait for the self driving cars to come out so we can all be safer.

M/T drivers are "mucho macho" and control freaks that want to micro manage everything!

    I hope I covered everything
    Cheers!

Lol... good description. ECT is a bit helpful, but today I pulled from my road onto the highway with some oncoming traffic, and even though I felt it was in a lower/ correct gear, there is a lag in the throttle before this truck gets up and goes. Gen 2's have that instant throttle jump... not Gen 3's :(

I don't drive like an ass and don't cut people off so I have no use for ECT.

Lol.. good to know bor. Ever had to enter a busy highway without a light ? Ever had to turn left at a light with no turn arrow against oncoming traffic ? I lived in Fullerton for 6 yrs, and find your experience hard to believe.

Imagine that, people expect their trucks to actually work??? Automatic transmissions are expected to shift non-manually? The nerve of some people.

    See previous post. Thanks "bor"

Coming from a modded Evo X with turbo lag, I have had 0 issues my whole driving life.

So this ECT button, does it turn on the other 5 cylinders?
My truck didn't come with one. (Asking for a friend)

Same here, as my truck accelerates great without it in ECT mode, and the only time I turn on the ECT is when I'm passing another vehicle on the highway or going up a grade, and even then not all the time.

Yeah I really miss that. Up until yesterday I had no clue what ECT did. Neither did the dealer hahah. They were awesome to work with though so I didn't mind too much.

Yeah I didn't wanna be the one to say it. I understand different areas have different driving requirements but some situations have safer options....
