I was in Mammoth this past weekend snowboarding with the lady. While in the parking lot I noticed some ice had formed on the fender flare. So I thought I'd get it off by giving the fender a light jab. Well, I guess the tabs that were holding the flares to the truck were frozen and were brittle. Three or four of the tabs that holds the flare to the truck broke off!!!!

Anyway, what’s the best way of repairing the flare? I was thinking about using fiberglass and fiber glassing it back on. I’m also considering bondo since it’s easier to work with. Does anyone have a better idea?

Ive used plastic two-part epoxy in the past and been very successful.

The clips, the two part sounds like a great idea.

No, the plastic part that those clips attaches to are broken.

Check eBay man. I think I've seen em on there for pretty cheap. But if you just need a couple then the dealer is probably the easiest.

Only a 10-year-old thread, but I'll bump it up because I am replacing fender flares and like half of those stupid tabs are broken. I'm sure some of you guys have figured out a good way to attach them 10 years later.

And I'm talking about the part that holds the clip, not the clip tself

I thought I said I've used flares, and the mounts are completely missing of course....
I think I'm going to try and JB weld a plastic nut on, and just use a bolt through the clip hole

If you have the broken part of the tab, 3M Urethane adhesive works well. Any body shop will have the stuff, it uses one of the caulk guns that has the mixer built into the tip. I had one of my flare pop apart last summer, apparently the stealership that sold me the truck did some janky repairs that I didn't notice at the time. I had a local body shop apply some of the urethane to reattach the broken tab and within 15 minutes the flare was back on the truck.

I had good results with JB weld plastic epoxy . Its a puddy so doesnt "run". This pic one fixed with the epoxy puddy the other just abs glue . This is xrunner spoiler which is abs . Believe flares are abs also . Been 2 years and still good . The abs glue actually melts into flare .
