Talking to my son, and he said it comes apart so I can just put the wires in there instead of using wire nuts

Afternoon all. Well, it's 1415 and we have made it 30 miles before we stopped to shop. Looks like we will get home tomorrow.

why would there be 2 white wires and one black wire going to a light???? and stoopid whatever that fitting is that won't let the wires come back out

 

google the model and see what you get for info. theres got to be an electrician here amongst us fools!!

 

don't know what model it is... it's the one I'm taking down.... and the wire isn't from the fixture, it's from the house

 

were the two white wires together when you took it down? the black is the hot-white is the neutral. turn the breaker off and see if it controls anything else.

 

breaker is off... all lights off. Only thing it could go to is the door opener, which is just past it on the ceiling... so flipping tired of the shoddy work the workers did on my house

 

ok,but were the two white wires together? if so i think its just part of the circuit the breaker controls. if the two whites were together,leave them together

 

I will. There some kind of claw thing/ gromet that's holding the wires in the old light... Can't get the wires out and can't find my small needle nose pliers... Why can't anything ever go easy??

 

and I can't use that thing, since the double wire won't fit in it

 

woman,yes or no. were the two white wites connected to each other when you took it apart? if so,wire nut to new white wire to both existing white wires and black to black wires

doing the same thing here.putting in gfci outlets and yes shoddy crap too!

 

heres the kicker-had my whole house mapped out with what controlled what and 1 breaker off my diagram so have to redo

 

I'm wore out. All cut up, sunburnt, and I think I have an asp sting. Looks like an asp. Doesn't feel like an asp though.
