1st Gen. ongoing prices..

Back in November of 2016 I bought my 01 double cab TRD 4x4 limited 150k on the clock. I paid 10k for it. Very well taken care of and maintained. It took me 6 months to find "the one". I also wanted silver so that made it a bit tougher. I thought it was a fair price.

 

Sounds like a fair price to me, out here in SoCal it would probably fetch a few more grand at least. Double cab 4x4 TRD 1st gen Tacos are the cream of the crop. I really wish I had the space of the double cab, but my #2 requirement for my truck when I was looking was that it had to have a manual trans, which unfortunately Toyota didn't offer on the double cab Tacomas back then (my #1 requirement was that it was 4x4).

 

A little off subject, but did you ever get the 7th injector?

 

Sure did, it's been installed for almost a month now. It's done everything it advertised it would do...got rid of 90% of the pinging I was getting. I still ping a little on uphill freeway climbs with the pedal to the floor in 5th gear, but that's to be expected considering the load that puts on the motor. Before the 7th, when I would do that the pinging would be so bad I had to pull in to the slow lane and creep along to avoid doing any damage to the motor, so it's a big improvement.

I might have to tune it a bit because it does make me run a little too rich, especially when I'm out on a trail in 4lo (throws an exhaust code pretty quickly now when I do, but goes away afterward).

 

Just bought a month ago for 5k. Has 260k!

 

Paid 5k for my 99 with 137k, at 200k now, a lot of mods, and rebuilt engine, would not sell less than 8k.

 

You got a hell of a deal at 5k

 

Prices here in Colorado is kind of outrageous on a 1st gen 4 x 4. At least 10k for something with over 200k miles or 14-15k for trucks with around 130k. More if it's a double cab. There was a 2003 Trd with only 50k miles from a small mountain town. How does that happen. Was asking 20k$. Gone.

 

17.5 OOD price plus 4.5K on repairs and interest on the loan make it a $22K new 2 me truck, I got it with 55K on odometer, sure I can"t get same configuration on a new one now, little tacomas , the real tacomas for that price.

 

Put that truck in a museum. I can't believe it only has 12k miles.

 

Nope. It's rusty as fuck because it must have sat in grass to rust the exhaust off. Frame is probably close to junk too

 

I know its been frustrating trying to find a one, When I find one That has what I am looking for its either already sold, or out of state and people are buying sight unseen. I have looked at a few that weren't bad prices but just didn't scream "gotta have it" guess I'm picky and old school for the prices I still except a clean(in good shape) truck.
That's why after many months of looking I stopped last time and now just started looking again, my eyes are killing me, staring at ads, search engines, and web sites. Found one 20 mins away at a local used car dealership, but I think its sold, listed on CL but not in their inventory, haven't received a call back.

 

I got my 1999 TRD Off-road 4x4 for 7,000 very clean one owner with snug top fully stock with 130,000 miles. Be patient a lot of over priced but its a tacoma so it kinda evens out haha.

 

$7,000, one owner, 130k miles, everything works, and no tears or flaws with interiors.

 

I bought my 2002 TRD OFF ROAD XCAB 5speed 2 months ago for $10,700.
180k miles but in immaculate condition. The dealer wanted $11,500. In Mobile Alabama and I decided that it would e worth it. I have been looking for a couple of months. I wanted one with a 3RZ but I am satisfied with the silky smooth V6. I added a fabtech 3.5 lift but I think a solid axle swap is in the near future.

 

I just bought a clean one owner 2002 4x4 3vz-fe extended cab with a rear locker, bucket seats, a 5 speed and complete service records. 141k on it - $9500.

 

Just bought an 02 ext. cab, PreRunner, 3.4, auto, SR5 with 65000 miles, one owner, for my daughter. Frame is in great shape. Paint is not not great and needs a few cosmetic improvements. Could probably use a full paint job. Interior is good, no tears, but a worn spot on the passenger side carpet. Got it for $9500. Probably overpriced but she likes it...
