Yeah very cool . I originally thought it was just a pic from the net.. awesome congrats.

 

Barely equivalent to the stock 3.4l, and that's only if you want the 50 extra torque and lower hp. Fuel more expensive, don't need to keep turbo spooled for power, etc.

Hell the 4.0 in the 2nd gen stomps it.

And these are stock Toyota motors. There are tons of better ones.

I'm talking about an 81 hilux . Why are you trying to argue? I'm good with my 3rd gen motor.

 

There is no plug and play 2nd gen swap for a straight axle 81 hilux .. Then there is the torque .. this is a street legal trail rig . It only drives on the street to get to dirt... have you seen the dirt every day swap with this motor in a wrangler? It doesn't even use diesel... it runs on dreams and best intentions in a light rig.

there is a 3.8L version as well, may not be a "repower" option yet, but there is a "coming soon" selection, the site has changed a little bit the last few months

buddy of mine was looking at this to put in a Land Rover, i thing the larger one would be better suited

it has its purpose..... in tractors
