Bought used 2017 DCSB 6/13/17. Knew about recall but liked truck and deal. Checked at Prince Toyota in Tifton, Ga. Tech checked and said needed gasket and bolts. No one at dealer, Southeast Toyota(distributor), or Toyota USA could advise how long before parts available. Toyota providing a 2017 Corolla loaner at no cost to me.
How long have other owners had to wait from date out of service to date returned? Toyota should have sufficient parts available to handle recall when recall is announced.

They kept your truck hostage and gave you a corolla indefinitely at "no cost" to you. How generous of them....

Time frame is a crap shoot. When i had to have my entire rear differential replaced they said no available lead time was shown on the parts. They came within a week. So the stock the dealer sees isn't a definite answer to availability. You could wait days or weeks depending on where they are in the supply chain.

You bought the truck and then the dealer took it hostage? Am I understanding this right?? So you basically bought a corolla?

    Thanks for info.
Bought Taco used from out of town Ford dealer. Knew of recall but bought anyway. Took by local Toyota dealer to check on recall. They checked and said it was the first Gen 3 that they had in for the recall. As I knew the diff could lock up if leak bad enough was glad a decent(1300 miles) loaner was available and to be paid for by Toyota USA. Will wait and see how this unfolds.
