I have searched for this but still have not found my answer. I would like to bypass the rev limiter somehow because at around 2k rpm my tries won't move if I'm trying to climb over a rock while in the lowest gear. Not trying to go fast on the highway cuz trust me, I really don't wanna roll my baby. Thanks for the help if you guys give any!

Sounds like you might have a 4 cyl automatic? With big 'ole tars?

If so, your rev limiter is not the issue. Its the gearing you have, the lack of torque of the motor and the stall speed of the torque converter in the transmission. Could be the same issues even if it's a v6.

The rev limiter is much higher than 2k. It's a function of the ECU, which haven't been successfully hacked on Tacoma, so I'm thinking that's not going to be changed.

I have the v6 auto with 245/65/r16 I believe. Not in country currently or else I would double check

Ok. It's still not a 'rev limiter' issue.

You'll either have to spend a chunk of change or stop trying to crawl over rocks that exceed the trucks ability. ;)

what would you recommend for years if I had 265/75r16 tires? 4.56?

If the tires don't move at 2k rpm, meaning you can't increase the rpm, having the ability to rev past 5500 isn't going to do you any good.

I still don't get it. You're getting so much traction with your 245/65's that the engine can't bust the tires loose? o_O

I'm not going to recommend a gear choice to anyone. There are too many variables, and unless the truck is dedicated to one specific funtion, gears may make another function miserable. Like a good crawler is likely miserable on the interstate.

So having practical knowledge is critical. While I can do the math, my experience is all with drag racing and autox, not crawling.

I suggest calling a reputable gear vendor, being prepared to tell them what you are trying to accomplish. They should ask you a lot of detailed questions about the truck as well, before they make any recommendation.

Lots of folks around here seem to use East Coast Gear Supply.

It sounds like you have some serious mechanical issues that need to be addressed.

265/75/16 are basically a 31" tire you should not need gears with that size tire. Sounds to me like you have a problem with tps. Your rev limiter should be around 6k not 2k rpm. Something is definitely wrong maybe @Torspd can help out here

There is no adjustment it's all fly by wire to the ecu. You may need your ecu reflashed. Do you have any codes?

So your saying that someone else is driving your truck and telling you that they can't get it to go over a rock? I would be asking them what they are doing to your truck

No haha I did that last year. They are just driving it around town keeping the fluids in check. They built a drift car from a 240sx but recently sold it. He put a 350z engine in it. That thing was a beast
