Hey guys, I wanted to share a problem I have with my tent so that hopefully you can prevent it happening to you.

@Cascadia Tents Mt. Shasta. On the annex, both corners where it slides into the channel are coming apart. One of them the thread is coming out, the other one the fabric is ripping. I use the annex fairly often, and am always careful with it when setting it up. I guess the minute that all the weight is on there while you're zipping it up is too much for it.

I am a little disappointed, I have only had the tent for 2 camping seasons and hoping it will last many many more.
    IMG_3665.jpg IMG_3667.jpg IMG_3668.jpg IMG_3669.jpg

Update: Bobby already responded in the rtt owners thread. I'm going to take it to a local upholstery shop and send the bill to CVT. Great customer service!

He says causes of this include pulling on the fabric when putting on/taking off the annex and closing the tent w/ annex still on.

Hey all, can someone tell me how they power the lights and USB ports on their CVT? Is there a battery or DC connection as it comes from the factory?

I just got the Mt. Shasta as well as an awing and I am wondering if anyone has any pics of how they mounted their awning. I have the L brackets an I have Yakima crossbars and the only way I can think to mount the awning is to bolt the bracket through the cross bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated. @Cascadia Tents

I do not have one, but have heard of people using hose fittings around the cross bar/L bracket...maybe this will help spark some ideas

I just ordered some CBI bed bars and hope to get a rtt soon. Does anyone have very compelling reasons to spend the extra for summit series or is the standard series just fine?

Unfortunately I noticed that one of the seams on my cover was starting to bust open. I've only had my tent for ~6 months. I sent an email to CVT and within 6 hours I got a reply saying they've filed the warranty claim and shipping me out a new one. Amazing customer service.

It's pretty warm this time of year so we just use normal bedding, such as sheet and a comforter with a few extra blankets.

Wow, I guess I have been out of the loop for a while (Cause I have been out enjoying my tent!) Happy to report that I have had my tent about 5 years now, and its still holding up strong! only a few little wear and tear things, but it has survived a few snow storms, heavy rains, my driving (on and off the trail) my dog, and lots of nights spent enjoying the outdoors!

I have only had one major issue with my tent and Bobby took care of things very very quickly! (I was on a 2 week road trip through the US, and my ladder broke) Bobby was able to tee up shipping to one of my destinations, and I was able to swap the ladder in the parking lot, and then onwards!

Very impressed with the tent, and every time I pop it open in a campground I have people come over and check it out, very happy to show it off, and spread the word about CVT up in Canada!

    A BIG +1 for CVT!

Did you end up choosing one over the other? I'm planning a drive to Bend to view the different RTT's in person.

So I am heading to Bend this week to grab a tent possibly. I have noticed in a couple videos it looks like near the poles under the bed there is actually holes that go to the outside of the tent. If this is true it leaves a place for yellow jackets , spiders and whatever else to get in and be waiting for you inside when its time for bed. I have someone in the family allergic and not spending that kind of money on a RTT if it isn't totally sealed when our standard camping tents are sealed up. Wonder if any owners can give feedback on this, don't want to drive to Bend to find out this won't work because it isn't 100 percent sealed from the outdoors

An option for monting off the end of Yakima bars is labrak's awning brackets: http://www.shop.labrak.com
    D4EA6A13-7976-452B-BC60-4CDE23585181-12016-00001182E166B96F.jpg

I ordered a pair to mount an ARB off Yakima bars that sit on top of my Bed cage. Funny thing... I ordered one set and ended up with 3 sets shipped in 3 different boxes so I have a couple extra sets laying around.

You can see how they clamp to the bar end ^

In that pic you can also see fourtreks awning mounts for the CVT that comes off the back of my truck. Check them out, they make a lot of cool stuff, but nothing for bar ends.
