I like to coat mine in mud at the trail head then let the rain wash off the scratches :D

Washed mine on the way home last night. Put everything away when I got home. Found everything I thought I'd lost, and was ready to go again before the sun went down. Stuck my new Miguel's sticker on the rear window this morning. I thought the truck was on fire about the time I hit the Bert Combs parkway yesterday....Then I realized the cloud of smoke was CO2 vapor from where I left the valve open a tic when I took the regulator off my tank.

Oh well....4 more full tanks in the garage.

Not been waxed since I owned it. This week has mild highs, compared to last 2 weeks, might wax it.

Found out what the science experiment in my cooler was. A combination of 6 obliterated eggs, a stick of butter, and a bag of garlic bolgna.

Seriously.... This is why I wax mine....scratch resistance and ease of cleanup. Been doing this with every 4wd I've owned since 1972.

Factory paint has enough shine if clean....wax isn't so much about making it purdy....It's about KEEPING it purdy!

That Meguires wax I mentioned works well in any temp above 50 or so, on into the 90's. Just avoid high humidity when possible

Will a good wax help hide and of the stripes or does it need to be done before to help prevent?

It'll hide light scratches. If they're deep enough that you can feel 'em with your fingernails, make friends with 'em because they're gonna show until a buffer hits the paint

I use TurtleWax. Have for years. Not sayin the Meguire's isn't good, just don't wanna buy more than I need.

Also, I just don't like to wax a vehicle in the open air, no garage or carport here, and in direct sunlight,

You have 2, maybe 3 buffing's in the life of a paint job.....then you start seeing primer. Paint with clearcoat gives you MAYBE 1 more buffing

I used to use Turtle Wax. Meguires does a MUCH better job of resisting scratches and it's a lot more forgiving of weather conditions.

I cleaned mine this spring with Mothers "Speed Clay 2.0" . Most amazing stuff I've ever used.

I wax either in the air conditioned garage, or, under the big silver maple "shade tree" in my driveway.

What are you guys referring to when you say "buffing" here? I'm assuming not just using a buffer to apply wax- I have an orbital buffer I use to wax the MR-S and I've done that way more than 3 times so I'm confused.

Also, all 3 manuals smoked their clutches at least once this trip, so @dirty deeds and @presta24 that's how we know we had a good time lol
