We want something that will outperform a supercharged 2nd gen. The hilux looks like a chopped up van. Maybe the grass is green on the other side? So far it seems like the 2nd gen outperforms the Hilux in every regard

187HP diesel? Looks like a van? They can keep that outside America.

They didn't have much to compete with. When the economy tanked around 07, the big three automakers had to reorganize and cut certain models, mid sized trucks competing against their own full size were some of the first to go.

People who wanted a midsize truck then only had Toyota and Nissan to choose from. Neither really pushed the envelope and continued to the same tried and true design as long as they kept selling. That's why people now complain the 2nd gen and the Frontiers seem so dated, they really are.

My initial impression of the 3rd gen was "uh oh, I probably shouldn't have traded my 2nd gen off." Then I hooked my 3rd gen to a trailer. I'd never go back.

I just don't get it. With so many vehicles out on the road to choose from why keep the 3rd gen if you don't like it. Life's too short to stress over a car.

So let me get this straight. Diesels are best for towing. The gen 3 Tacoma engine is the opposite of a diesel and yet it tows great. I'm confused. Can someone please explain how this can be so.

And the 2nd gen guys spend all their time in the third gen section wasting their time trying to convince themselves and others 2nd gen is better still with no success. Other than the 8 track tape.
Back of 2nd gen reminds me of the old station wagons. Dated.

That whole test drive thing is hard dude. I mean like, who has the 15 minutes that would take. Why not just ask the sales guy. If it will do the test drive should I kick the tires during this test drive? What does that do? Should I ask where the gas goes in? Anything else I should check?

no need to check anything, just join a bunch of forums and ask the members what you should buy....that seems to be a very popular thing to do, so it has to be legitimate, right?

A Jeep ? Are you freaking serious ! Biggest POS there is. They stopped making real jeeps in the 90's.
Only thing carried over by Chrysler was the name.
