    Completely stock

yes you can. just go onto the website and it will take you through the steps or you can go to the dealership and build it there but they require a percentage down to place the order

The dealer I worked for required I think 1500-2000 down for an order. If you have one ordered straight from the factory it can take 12 weeks.

A dealership can also do a locate and see if a dealership somewhere has what you want, then they can work something out and send someone to get it for you. It wouldn't take as long as a custom order.

My dealership traveled from Nevada to Oklahoma once to get someone the truck they wanted.

I ordered mine online, and only dealt with the dealership to pick the truck up. This was back in 2004, but will do it the next time also.

I used the build my truck thingy on Toyota's website and nothing like it was available, but one was scheduled for delivery to a dealership in Alabama. It was still a couple of weeks out. My local dealer intercepted it and had it shipped here instead.

I've always wondered if it would be possible to order a Off Road with the Sport hood when ordering directly from the factory...anyone ever heard of Toyota doing this?

I ordered my 4x4 DCLB Sport around 11 February. I picked it up on 7 Mar. It seemed like it took forever to get here. I wanted a silver w/tow package and JBL w/sat, and nothing else. I didn't want their overpriced wax job, scotch guard etc, etc. I wanted to take my truck to a reputable tint place as well. If you are willing to wait a few weeks, you can get the exact truck that you want. I put a $500 refundable deposit down.

Toyota most likely build trucks like Lexus does cars.
A good friend of mine is a new car manager at a local Lexus dealer.
The make the Lexus cars and suvs a group at a time.
We wanted a light colored interior on a IS 350.
They were not building it for 6 months.
    Simple as that.
It costs less to do a run of so many of one kind of interior at the same time.

You can search around the country and have the dealer get it or decide on a close enough to what you want. Or wait it out.

From the factory-no. From the dealer-probably for the right money. Manufacturers build specific packages or groups of options to keep costs down. The big three used to be notorious for specific individual options ordered from the factory. The new F150 is probably the closest to having the most variation in custom ordering even though alot of the options are dealer installed. It seems like there are twenty different wheel options alone.

Bingo. What the dealer actually does is preference a model to be delivered to their dealership the next time it is built. If you want to swap out hoods or have other customizations performed it will have to be done at the local dealer level. This method may take longer than usual as Nummi is shutting down.

P.S. I preferenced my Tacoma. I had to wait 8 weeks until Nummi built 1 of the 6 trucks I purchased :)
