As am I, this looked like a real blast. Wish Levi wasn't struggling right now.

On a side note: anyone have any advice on a good dealership near oceanside. I've heard Carlsbad is bad but how is the one in Escondido?

I may have to go there..... the VSC light is on and warning message on heads up display. Anybody got any ideas what this may be related to. I pushed the VSC button to put in open diff mode and thats when it happened. Lightis on, no codes, i did disconnect negative battery cable to see if it would clear, i also let the truck sit for a long period to let brakes cool off to see if that ould make it go back to normal. Very lost with this.

I went to Gorman yesterday and did some exploring with my wife. We had fun squeezing through some canyons until we found out it was a dead end lol.

We also got to see a snake crossing the snake. That was pretty cool. I've never seen that before.

Yea, same here. I was OOT this weekend, or I would have gone up. Big Bear is one area that I've been wanting to explore for a while now.

Saturday morning @jvill4 and I met up on the 10 frwy to head for what i thought would be at most 3 hore of trail scouting time. I planned out a route that would take us from the 15 freeway all the way into Big Bear on almost all dirt (maybe 5 or so miles of pavement). I was excited to say the least, as I have never even thought of attempting something like this in the past. Frankly, didnt even think it was possible. Thanks TW for putting crazy ass ideas in my head!
We arrived at the cleghorn-ridge-trail head just before 8 am and aired down. While airing down there we two jeeps at the trail head also, one cherokee, one wrangler. They were talking to each other, so Jaun and i continued our with our own plans. After they were done talking, the guy from the Cherokee starts up a conversation with us and we inform him of our plans, he then decides to join us for our little adventure. He was 4wd and had a winch, so i wasnt going to turn down the added security of the winch. We started up the trail and it was great, plenty of rough road and pretty scenery. We finally came to the first obstacle and bypass, we looked at it briefly and decided to move on even though i was dying to play. We came to the second obstcle and it didnt look to bad, just a reasonable hill climb. I was in the lead and pulled up on to the off chute. Looked up the hill and picked my line, i got a decent run and made it to the top (fromt wheels crested the summit). The rearend just would not follow, so i had to reverse down the hill in defeat. The green jeep was coming up the hill about 50 yard behind me and i had to tell him to stop on the radio so i could get my truck down. Jjust as i was about to the bottom, a train of 4 wheel crawlers came around the corner and stopped as they saw what was goingoing. The train consisted of all built and battered old 4runnners, tacos, jeeps, 2 samurai's and Avery large chevy. At this point I am just trying to get off the trail and not embarrass my self any further by trying to attempt the hill againot. There was a small, but steep entry to the hill just at the bottom. I decided it would be best if I just back down there and continue on the bypass. When attempting that, i ended up highsiding myself on my rails with rear tires in the air. Now i am embarassed because now one of the 4 runners from deep in the line ( because he was closet to one of the little entry ways to the offchute) had to vome give me a pull. I got free and the green jeep that was with us decided to go with the 4 wheel train. Juan and i continued down the trail and saw a few more off chutes that looked similar to the one i attempted, but neither of us gave them a shot. We came to one of the last off chutes and it did not look to bad going up (should have walked to see what was on the down side), so i shot up the hill and made it with ease. Only after getting to the top did i realize my error. Cadon and i sat there for a few minutes and chatted with jaun on the radio about what was looking at. My advice was, JAUN.... DO NOT SCOME UP THIS HILL! I was essentially looking at a bobsled track with a 4.5 foot waterfall i the center. I picked a line i thought would be good and started my decent when 2 dodge rams came into view coming from the bypass. I honked my horn a couple of times and they stopped to watch the horror about to unfold. Here is the video. It the only thing i got from the trip before it was run over at the pilot truck trail entrance.
    https://youtu.be/BaYuQ7grA5A

We finished cleghorn, but it took more time than expected. The rams were doing pretty much the same thing we were excpet they were traveling so slow at times. We finally got to pilot truck trail and after inspecting the trail damage and trying to put the phone back together we headed out. Pilot is a similar version of cleghorn, but i think is a little more mangable in the 2wd. After my phone did not work anymore. I lost all my maps and notes. I was now flying completly blind, so we finished pilot as fast as we could and then decided not tomdo the green valley to big bear on dirt. We just took pavement and had a stop at the visitor center to get a simple map so i could find yellow post 25 (again). We finally found camp aroundaround like 4 o'clock and we're surprised to have an extra guest. (Extra guest= lonely, friendly, bat shit crazy guy). So camp as moved and I got a crude drawiNguyen of where to go on the map from visitor center. I ran to Kmart to see if I could get a new phone of some sort and beforemost you'all bash me for that statemention. All of the San Bernardino mtn. area, big beqr, arrowhead etc.... do not have a cell phone store except verizion, i am at&t. After going to kmart and coming out disappointed like i knew i would, i head off to look for the new camp site. I head up the right way and pass 3 tacos sittingmon the side, but pay no real attention except they have nice set ups and were finishing up. I head down the road for what seems like forever and hit all the points on the map, but then the map runs out and the trail doesn't. I drove another mile or so, but i am now saying just screw it i'll just go fishing and stay on beach. I turn around and head out and the 3 tacos are still sitting there chatting. I pull up and jump out to ask theme if they have seen the 2 trucks i am looking for. Little did I know it was Alex @MADSTEEZE . He says yeah I have seen them, i am not doing anything I will help you look for them. Very cool of himy to do, so thank you Alex. We eventually found the spot that was picked, it was another couple of miles in by the equestrian camp/ picnic area. Alex left just before sunset, we went for a hike and food was prepared. Then around 11, @FishingInSand asks if I am up for a night run. Not sure which trail we took as I am without my phone. We got done with that trail around 130 am. I went to the lake to fish and Corey and Amanda went back to camp. I had one fish, but the sly bastard was big enough to break my leader. It was my only bite of the day and i fished from 2am to 2pm. Drove home got a new phone. More pics to from me courtesy of @jvill4 . Thanks guynfor a memorable trip.
