1" front level suggestions

Got my new rims installed, love it so far. Looking to level the front out, will be leaving the rear stock. As of right now the truck is stock besides the rims with are 16x8's with stock tires at 265/70/16.

I measured the front and back this evening and got 5.5 gap from wheel top to fender in the front and 6.75 in the back. making about a 1.25 inch difference, to be leveled.

I do not off road besides the occasional trip across a pasture during deer season. This is my daily driver.

What do you suggest the best route to level it is with providing the best ride possible? Spacers are not an option, looking for input on shocks and or coils.

So far I have in mind a set of 5100's and an EMU coil. from what I am gathering using the chart from Headstrong, a set of Bilstein 5100 24-239370 on first notch with EMU 884's will be one inch.

Would I be better off using stock coil with the 5100's? if so which notch?

Open to other brands if there is a better choice. Looking to keep it under 500$

Measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender. You'll get a more accurate measurement this way. As far as lift goes, throw a 1/2" spacer up top and call it good. This'll lift you about an inch.

Im really hesitant to do the spacer route. Do you feel the spacer will ride the same as doing 5100's? just want to keep it as smooth as possible. I see on the description it does say it will not change the quality. I may rethink my approach then. BUT damn, sold out. ill message him and ask when they will have more.

It will actually ride better. The 5100s with stock coils gains lift be preloading them, which results in a harsh ride. Top plate spacers do not affect the ride at all. People don't recommend spacer lifts because if you get a big spacer then go off road, you'll bottom out your shock if you don't space out your bump stops. With a spacer as minor as 1/2", you won't have any issues. Just make sure to get the extended studs.

 

Also any 1/2" spacer will do. I believe toytec sells one too.

 

A 1/2" spacer will not change your ride one tiny bit. It WILL change your alignment, but you will be able to realign it no problem.

 

Has anybody had experience with after lift vibration with this 1/2 inch spacer set up? I'm only after a one inch lift max. I installed 5100's at 1.75 notch and instantly got vibes before and still after re-alignment. I took it back down to stock and no further problems. 2013 off road 6 speed dcsb. by the way.

 

I got the 1/2 spacer ordered from Headstrong. I will update in a week or 2 after i get it installed and have some time to test it out.

 

So the existing studs are not long enough for the 1/2" spacer (1" lift)?

 

Correct. You may be able to get a couple threads, but not enough to be safe.

 

@Truc577 you can kinda see in this pic how many threads I've got. It's like 1/2" above the nut.

 

Ok thanks a bunch, I ordered a "street rays" brand and the sales person says there is enough to get the nut on but I was skeptical. The spacer is 1/2" thick looks like they provide thinner nuts. It may work if there is a 1/2" of threads above the nut. Guess I will get out the micrometer and check it out before I start. I would look at my own but its not ready for pick up from the dealer yet.

 

Yep that's what they are doing, supplying regular flange nut to replace the thicker Toyota nut. Finally YOUTUBed it!!

 

Do you have a picture of this installed? I’m thinking of going this route so I don’t have to replace the factory studs.

 

back when I had 1/2” top plates I could barely get the factory nuts on when I tested them. I had the extended hardware in hand, though.

 

How did it turn out?
