That's some tough talk from an Asian driver.

Hmmm unlike Asian drivers who never look in their blind spots and drive 20 miles under the speed limit

My pops is in the market for a full size. Decent truck to drive to work and around but enough power to tow a mid sized 28' boat and stuff. Double cab is on the agenda as well.

Any of you have any info about what might be a good pick? He's looking at an older Chevy 1500 right now.

If you looking at older Chevy get the 6.0 motor. They hold up the best. Used 07 plus tundra are expensive, but they are bulletproof. Won't loose much at resale. Ford.... Yeah no.. Dodge hit and miss.

Socaloc explained pretty well. They got issue after issue. The motor is junk on the f150 for that time frame. Ford didn't get their stuff together until recently. Drive around and see what old trucks you see on the road.

Good to know. I feel like the new ford trucks are good. My dad had a late 90's f350 that he loved but he's looking at probably getting a chevy. He doesn't want to spend over 20k and is looking for something more around that 15k range.

Diesel is awesome but really isn't worth it unless you tow big. 5th wheel get a diesel. Gas chevy will probably get you in that range. Not sure if a 2nd gen tundra would pop up in your search.

He's not towing something that big so he will probably be fine with a solid v8.

That hd you linked will ride like a dump truck. Might want to test drive a few.
