    Forget Clear lens swap...
How about some custom designed CNC'd LED Edge lit side markers:D

Howboutdat (these are all mock ups with spare parts)

Was thinking a TRD logo or something, but I wanted it to be a little more OEM looking

How did you come about learning how to mod lights like this? Just been doing it as a hobby for awhile?

I just start cutting stuff and hope it works out o_O

    These just arrived.
    Quad bi-led.. it's going down for real:D
I lit them up last night and the cutoff is pretty darn good I must say. When it gets dark I'll take a LUX reading VS my modded RX350's.

    Hey
Back to your headlight retro fit
How/where did you run the new harness and where did you mount the ballasts?

I used HD relay kit. The relays are mounted right next to the battery, then has 2 leads (one for each ballast)
IIRC both ballasts are mounted right under the headlight on flat metal surface in the engine bay.

As far as location of the harness
Did you run it behind the radiator?
Iwas sent the wrong harness and bulbs so while I'm waiting I'm trying to figure out where to run the wires, maybe I can reinstall the headlights and bumper then run the wires behind the radiator, but the fan is making me think twice

I still think the RX's gonna have the edge on lux and throw. Can't wait to see the finished product though! I've been wanting a side marker like that but something frosted that the whole thing glows, (I hate to say it lol) but kinda like the Fords of even the Subaru C's.

I'll measure tonight with my Meter. I bet it will be close. The only thing (I think)the RX's will beat them at is high beam output and maybe width. But I'll have QUADS, so it will make up for it:)
    Reason for LED projectors;
1)I feel they have finally reached technology where they are on par with most HID projectors
    2)instant startup, long life
    3)I'm a LED freak
4)super simple wiring! Power and ground. No bulbs, no ballast(it has a small driver but really tiny)
    5)it's new.. why not?
6)got them on sale, so all 4 about the same price as a pair of tuned RX's(and required accessories)

Don't get me wrong... LOVE my RX setup(will be for sale once these are complete)
Plus it gives me a reason to customize the turn signal and side marker how I wanted. BTW, I can make them frosted..i just sand blast the back of the lens for a texture/frost look.

All good stuff. The only thing I'd be worried about is losing a diode. Do you have to open the bucket back up and replace the whole projector if so? Shoot me a pm on your current headlights when you get ready to sell them.

Can't deny that RX color band though...Love it everytime
    [IMG]

Better bulbs/ballasts in the RX's would have been nice(instead of the morimoto 35w +6k)..but whatevs they work great.

Either my meter is bogus(its brand new) or these LED's have a decent amount of output...

Hotspot does look brighter, but a lot more consistent intensity just under the cutoff all the way across with the HIDs. Why do the HIDs look whiter? Some boosted Hellas and Philips XV's would be nice in the RX's!

IDK, must be the camera. Yeah, some better bulbs would def. help. But DAMN these Bi-LED's aren't too shabby. Cutoff/color is almost identical to the RX.

Still messing around with my side markers. going to change up the design..watcha guys think?:

Going to tint them from the back (to dull down the amber) and leave the light windows visible.
Also, the side markers will be switchbacks; ~50% bright for parking lights, Switch to 100% flash for side turn signal.

    Messing around:
