How much for a cabin? Or split costs with a few?

What are the trails like? Anything difficult? Is it worth coming up from Florida?

JimboAnz you're gonna ride the hardest of hard trails with me if you go. I missed saying hi at the rally for whatever reason

There are green trails, blue trails, red and black. Increasing degree of difficulty as you go. Green is (as a friend described it) "Subaru friendly". Black will potentially destroy a rock bouncer. The bulk is green or blue. A stock Tacoma can cruise these. We will be splitting into 2 groups most likely. One group will be focusing on red and black trails. Other group will be on green, blue and some red. There is enough trail to make the distance as much of an obstacle as any part of the ride. This is the 3rd year for this meet. The goal is to keep increasing distance and a mild increase in degree of difficulty on the Saturday run. We hope to essentially cover the entire perimeter of the park this year.

There are multiple spots where you can be on relatively mild trails and observe extreme vehicles on extreme trails. There are more than enough black trails for the most extreme off roaders to get their fill....

Many people who have been to Black Mountain consider it one of the best off road parks in the US. Easily one of the best in the eastern half of the country. Back in the mid 1980's I had the pleasure of doing the Rubicon Trail in the Jeepers Jamboree. Black Mountain, while being a little more sedate on the green/blue trails is as much fun in my book. It can be as easy or as difficult as you'd like to make it.

I'm hoping to do some greens. And then maybe ride shotgun for the hard stuff and do some recording and picture taking.

It's starting to take on a life all it's own! I've got another group interested in going with us. They're sort of an eclectic bunch....Land Rovers, a couple Jeeps, Xterra's, FJ Cruisers, etc...If they go, we may be over 40/45 in total.

It's been a dream of mine to get an event started that could be the Kentucky group's signature event....Black Mountain would be the perfect spot because of it's size and location. I'm working on somewhat of a sponsor to hopefully pay for shirts and/or hats.....And at some stage, I'd like to see this turn into a big cookout/BBQ/party on Friday or Saturday night.

I'll be at Appalachian meet up as well. Just got done with red clay rally and others before that. I've been and will be all over, that's not an issue. 3 weeks between long trips is pushing it though
