    I have a 2016 Tacoma trd sport.
I have just been told that there is a recall on my truck.
Yesterday I found a completely different recall online that was said to begin July 17 2017.
The recall online said it was a problem with a crank censor causing the engine to stall out (which I have experienced twice) the first time the engine completely lost power and stalled as I was in movement, I was doing about 25 mph, and it took 2 tries to get my truck to restart. The second time I was making a right turn into traffic when I felt the truck begin to lag and felt as if it were about to stall until I threw it in to sport mode and down shift to 2nd forcing the engine to take off. When I contacted my local dealership about the recall, I thought was the one I had researched, they said it was a completely different issue and that they had nothing going on regarding the crank sensor. So my dilemma is, if that's my problem, (crank sensor or anything involved.)Does it have anything to do with the exhaust system? I put a Flowmaster super 10 muffler on and didn't save the stock part so I'm struggling trying to buy the new oem part, to return it to stock. I just don't know if they will try to say it's the exhaust causing the problem. Please guys I'm desperate, my apt. Is tmrw at 9:00am vegas time.

You are fine, the CPS has nothing to do with the exhaust and your exhaust only changed the muffler which does nothing to the rest of the truck

Shouldn't have anything to do with the exhaust.

Should really have a rule to the whole "HELP ME" thing. As mentioned a few weeks ago to a similar post, these should be limited to those who are stranded or up the creek without a paddle.

They've already replaced my CPS under the recall, don't know where this July 17th is coming from.

It may not be your idea of an emergency, but no one else pays for my truck, I want to be sure that I'll be taken care of when I go to the money hungry dealership I bought my truck from, so I come to you guys for help. So I title it how ever I need to, to get the attention / advice needed for my issue. Thanks.

Hmm.. makes me wonder. The day I bought my truck, I was pulling out (right turn) at a light and pushed gas pedal, but the truck just choked. Pushed pedal more and the truck lunged a couple of times (thought it was going to die), then finally it puffed a big puff of smoke and kicked in. Truck was in Drive, and I almost had to floor it to keep it from stalling. I just took it as a computer learn (truck only had 4 miles at that time), but maybe this ?

Maybe if you don't understand the mods you are putting on your truck and what they effect you shouldn't be putting said mods on you truck and keeping it stock, just saying.

And this wasn't an emergency in any sense

Did you spin a tire? Loose gravel or dirt? In a hurry? That'll kill the motor everytime.

We understand that this is a big deal for you, no one is arguing that. The thing about the "Help" title is whenever there are actual emergencies that require immediate physical action by members where someone could be in danger or otherwise stranded without any help, the cry for help draws immediate attention in what could be a potentially life threatening situation. Most members know this and will continually bump a thread and/or gather resources to get the stranded member back home safely. Since you already got your answer, then you no longer need the help, correct? Please change the title. It helps clear out anything that is outdated and any actual calls for help will be easier to find as they occur.

No, it was on clean pavement. But I am thinking about disabling traction control since it does have the ability to choke down the engine.

Interesting tidbit of information here. Never thought about this but makes sense. Thanks for the heads up

OP already changed the title, but keep in mind. Alot of people around this thread will actually come and get you if you need the assistance and are local. Cry wolf, or respond with something similar to your "but no one else pays for my truck" attitude, people may turn the other cheek if you become stuck between a rock and hard place.
