What lug nuts come on a 2017 SR (steel wheels)? I am about to get a set of FJ TRD Team Trail wheels, and I read that they require "12mm conical seat spline lug nut". Do I already have those?

    Thanks,
    John Z

Probably not. Where are you buying them from? I don't know of any Toyota's that come with factory spline lug nuts. The factory wheels use mag seats.

Buying them from a friend. He removed them from his 2010 FJ. I assume he's kept the lug nuts for himself

Are the TRD FJ Wheels aluminum? If so definitely double check because the steel lugs probably won't work.

I don't have them yet. I'm in Florida and the wheels are in St Louis. I found an ad for the same wheels from a dealership, and they advised that they require 12mm conical seat spline lug nuts.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
The 12mm conical is the important part. Being that is was a dealership ad, they were probably just trying to push the lug nuts. They might be suggesting the spline for clearance reasons with regards to the socket. If you use a traditional steel lug nut, you might need a thin wall socket.

Yes, that is conical. If you are going to an aluminum alloy from steel, I would recommend these... The aluminum wheels are thicker at the hub and you won't have a lot of thread engagement with the stock conical nuts (Conical is also referred to as "acorn" style) on the studs. This style will give you more thread engagement and lessen the possibility of loose lug nuts.
