I think REI has some sales going on for Tepui.

Or www.gofsr.com has $99 shipping for all of their tents

I think the slowest i did it timed was about a minute open and 5 closed?

It was closed by the time the other one had the window springs removed, and fastened down.

Sorry TW, It won't let me post this as a thread yet (newbie). So any information is great appreciated!

I'm looking into buying a Smittybilt Overlander 2783 Rtt.
After reading some of the posts about them on TW, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any insights on this product. Some folks have mentioned getting them on sale for around $600.
Anyone know of any deals, hookups, or promotions on this product before I pull the trigger?
    Thats in advance!

I got mine through Amazon. $719, free shipping in November 2016. I had seen it lower, but felt this was a good compromise between cheaper, paying shipping, and waiting longer. Just had it out for 5 days on the beach at the Outer Banks. Worked like a charm, loved every minute of it.

I have the Smittybilt Overlander and have been using it pretty frequently for the past few months... I got mine for $800 shipped and have been fairly pleased with it so far. The straps that hold the tent town have started to fall apart (Velcro separating) and I contacted Smittybilt and they are sending a new tent to 4wheelparts where I bought it so I can exchange it. Not the best quality tent but at least it's from a large name brand like Smittybilt and they stand behind their products fairly well. Eventually I'll upgrade to a CVT or Tepui but this tent works great as a first RTT. I was going to buy one on Black Friday last year and could've gotten it for $650 shipped from 4wheelparts but didn't have the money at the time.

Has anyone found any other solutions to mounting a CVT to a prinsu without needing the patience to ratchet the nut up all of the bolts? Maybe shorter bolts would make it easier?

I have purchased shorter bolts for mine to mount on the RCI bedrack I have. It took literally forever to tighten them all down and I got tired of doing it so this made sense. Should work just fine. I would recommend getting strong stainless steel ones.

Think he's referring to ease of mounting, not making it more secure. With the roof rack you have a small space to work with and having to tighten a nylock up all the way sucks, even with the right tools. Thats why I ditch the nylock in place of a lock washer. Spins freely all the way up and you only have to tighten the last bit, and it holds just fine

Sounds like a great idea if I wasn't planning on removing the tent, but I don't like leaving the tent on while I'm not exploring since I can't fit in the garage with it on.

Just going to order 2 extra bars so I can leave the bars attached to the rtt and just undo the 2 side bolts.

I do the same for the cab rack, rotopax, treds, plano all come off with the bars. much easier just having to do the bolts on the side of the rack
