    @Thyces the sumo springs are your bumps aren't they? You had more lift than me in the rear and I have dakars. I don't know the shock length differences between yours and my nitro chargers but your atleast 2-3 inches higher than me....you shouldn't be bottomed out. Plus the sumo springs pretty much take out any possibility of you bottoming out.

    Should of measured when we had the chance.....we kinda got pre occupied with fixing other stuff

    Best bet is to remove the shock flex the absolute shit out of it and measure from eye let to eye let.

    By your calculations I should have no problems then. When fully flexed out I have 1 3/4 inch.

    @Thyces

    Its as simple as this and like stated before. Measure from the top of your bumpstop to where the bumpstop hits your frame add how much your bumpstop is quoted to compress to that initial measurement.

    Now look at your shock. Measure the amount of shock shaft showing, subtract a 1/2 to 3/4in for a margin of error, and that is how much shock compression you have left.

    If the first measurement you took is greater than the second, you need shorter shocks, as like stated again, its only a mater of time before a shock buckles when its being used as a bumpstop.

    Cool. By these calculations I'll be good unless I carry over 1500lbs in the back.

    You have to consider the fact when at flex, its only one bumpstop holding the rear weight of the entire truck.

    Again, you really need to pull a shock out, to fully flex the truck (lift a tire off the ground and compress the side that doesnt have a shock) and take a measurement, if you did this the thread would be over in about 3 posts instead of 5 pages.
