    1) I agree with that, which i mentioned in saying "anything is possible"
    2) Yes i watched both games, russia and mexico are both dirty teams. They both are notorious for that, Russia is just garbage, Mexico is mediocre. The Russians definitely were playing with frustration, that's not going to be the case when mexico faces the cool, calculated Germans. Portugal is a good team, had an off day. They outclass Mexico most other days.
    3) I favor Germany for obvious reasons, but try to be able to give non(less)-biased opinions on games. I love underdogs as well. I eat, sleep, breathe, and bleed Fußball - sports center(or really any American media) bears no weight to me and my football-related knowledge base.
    4) As someone else said before, Germany is a stronger squad now than the one fielded to win the WC in '14. Sure we're missing Lahm, Schweiney, Klose, Mertesacker, etc.. but we've welcomed the likes of Rudy, Goretzka, Kimmich, Süle, Ginter, Plattenhart, Henrichs, Demirby, Werner, Brandt, Draxler, etc.... We're fielding this team to see who is worthy of the call up next year. Confed cup doesn't really matter - we all know that, that's why Yogi Löw is giving the youngsters a chance. Mexico is trying to win the Confed Cup so bad because we know they're going to crash out of the group stage
    5) I'll never pick a team over Germany (Unless it's strictly betting and they're playing the Italians:frusty:). You think Argentina produces the worlds greatest players? Why haven't they won a WC in 25+ years? Germany can absolutely be included in that, think of all the positional GOATs that come from Germany. sure Argentina made maradona and messi but other than them, i can't think of a football great to the level of Neuer/Lahm/Klose(to keep it recent) or Gerd muller, oli kahn, franz beckenbauer(to go a tad older), etc.

    lol ok
    1) cool we see eye to eye
    2) mexico I would no call a dirty fouling team, russia was like 15 to 2 in the foul department.
    3) I love argentina in the same way you love the germans... blinded by love, and a self proclaimed soccer racist. and I agree about sports center I used sports center as an example for a sports show thats all, clearly they know little to nothing about the sport and alexi lalas doesnt know his ass from his elbow when it comes to the sport!
    4) I would go as far as to say any soccer team from any spanish speaking countries tries very hard in deed to win any and all matches, even friendlies! I highly dispute your group stage comment as Mexico is one of only three countries (brazil & germany) to have made it out of the group stage consecutively in the last 6 world cups iirc...
    5) I will never pick a team over Argentina... Ever.... Argentina does produce more players than Germany and that is just a hard numeral fact. some people only take note of highly prized stars and that is ok I understand... but simply put the sport has so many more players than those like Maradona, Pele, messi and or cr7... Argentina has not won for a multitude of highly debatable reasons of which not having a great grasp of argentine soccer most would not understand the politics of the country and its greatest export. Players and Teams are vastly different when considering tournament wins. But either way, we know what we read and we do not know what we do not read. I am not saying the germans do not produce great athletes, as I know very well great minds and muscles have come from germany... but their soccer sucks and i simply would never admit other wise heheh :anonymous:

I honestly don't think Mexico has the talent to beat the Germans, I'll still cheer on Mexico but if Mexico beats Germany and play the final against Chile...... we're fucked if we remember what happen on last Copa America quarter Finals :anonymous:

that's a tad ignorant, im assuming heavy sarcasm though so that makes it better lol

There's a reason that all the South American(Argentines included) try to leave and play in Europe. There's a reason the Bundesliga is consistently at the top of the world-wide leagues(just a hair behind La Liga) and on top of UEFA coefficients. There's a reason these South American players come over to Portugal/France/Italy (feeder clubs) first before they move to the Bundesliga/La Liga/Prem.

lol yes very heavy on the sarcasm!!! though cars being stamped out in south america do suck, and german cars often enough are built with decent quality control (though many seemingly falling off but thats another topic all together)
the argentines leave for 2 reasons: 1) money & 2) they have no choice their clubs pretty much own them
Yes many go into italy portugal france first, but the best go right into Spain or England and some into germany as well.

every four years things get very real, unlike many countries argentina takes this with a heavy heart and things are never not once forgotten about.
it is just a different world in the sense of soccer.
it is tough to compare but often compared, team vs team
seldomly is it compared country to country

I really can not stress enough how insane this sport is down there. People are just not aware of the extent of entanglement between Politics & futbol in that country. It is often spoke about, but more often than not it is downplayed...

never forget FIFA is a mafia, and AFA is no different...

oh i know, i studied abroad in Buenos Aires and made some friends there that I often played football with, they kinda told me about what youre getting into.

I will say, i think you're underestimating/understating the love that us Germans have for football. Just like many places in South America, from the smallest towns to the biggest cities, everyone is passionate. there's places to play everywhere. Even with all the peril of our country being torn apart, we've stuck together and stayed strong and carried the country to victory through political turmoil. If there's a country that understands the football-politics dichotomy, Germany is def to be talked about.

believe it or not I would not even consider myself a fan...

my father is a fan, a fan of his team his country and most of all a fan of the sport...

I suffer of a phenomenon that would be considered fanatic... and it is not a very good one, i seldom even bother with the sport because of what it does to me.

nobody likes to cry over a stupid game... and river plate and the national team have ruined me for better or worse.

I wouldn't say i am underestimating as much as I am simply ignoring it lol
that plus I have not visited germany.
every chance I get to leave I visit Argentina

Also, I'd like to remind everyone that on this glorious day, 52 years ago, FC Bayern München were promoted to the Bundesliga. As they say, the rest is history :hattip:

chicharito left practice early today with an aggravated muscle injury. Andres Guardado is suspended. Hector Moreno isn't fully fit. Carlos Salcedo is obviously not playing.

Will be interesting. cant wait to watch!
