No photos yet, but I've ordered my mid size bed rack and I'll be getting the additional bed rack to bring it to the tall size height. From there I'll be getting some Thule Dock Glides to carry the kayak. The only downside is no RTT at the same time. I looked into the Prinsu rack, but I think it'll be too much. My thoughts are if I'm using the RTT, I'm basically car camping somewhere cool. If I've got the kayak out, I'm bringing my backpacking tent with me!

I just finished getting everything setup and ready to go for its maiden voyage. I'll be taking it out for the first time in a few weeks and will report back. So far I have been very pleased with the quality of both the bed rack and the Tepui tent. Both are of top notch quality.

This is a great thread. Seems like more people are using bed racks vs bed bars. I think I will go with taller Bed bars to fit with my factory tonneau. Any suggestions on bed bars for an RTT? Or is a bed rack the way to go?

Ive been thinking about getting rid of my bed cover for a bed rack setup. The only thing is I don't want my power tank exposed and spare tire for someone to lift it. I think this setup is the solution. Great idea! It's not out of site but it's definitely inaccessible. Nice job!

Got my Yakima Skyrise Medium tent this week, but unfortunately it was damaged on arrival. I got it at a great price, so hopefully the exchange process is simple, quick, and most importantly the replacement is undamaged. Will have to wait till Monday to find out what the recommend solution is.

How is your mpg with that size rack? My tall kbvoodoo makes it really easy to access gear in the bed but my mpg went down by almost 40%! I ahve the same tent as you do.

Good question. I've tracked my milage over the past 12k miles of which I do about 75% highway and 25% city driving. I lose almost exactly 1mpg with the tent on. about another 0.5 mpg with the bed loaded down with camping gear. Total additional weight with the bed loaded is roughly 500lbs. Here are some pictures from this weekend of the setup in action.

that is harsh. i have my tent on my cab. I just completed a 2,500 mile trip and recorded about 17.5 mpg. my norm is 18.5 without the tent on. it was routinely over 100 and a lot of the driving was at elevation, so thin air.

I have the RTT mounts on my rack so it will be different if you don't. If not, I would mount it to the two main cross tubes.

The wind noise isn't bad. I only notice it when the radio is off. I loose about 1-2 mpg with the tent on. Haven't really tracked it to well though.

How do you like the bed rack overall? I know Jerry makes great stuff, I just haven't seen his bed rack in person yet.
