So fuck it,im done trying to keep it nice.

If you get some sliders, it'll keep peoples doors from hitting yours.

I feel your pain. You make the effort to park away from the door bangers and it can be like a magnet for idiots. I still have my older car that I didn't trade. I just use it as an errand car.

I would love to see some anti-door bang mods to help us all protect our vehicles.

It's like you work hard to get something nice in life and the asshats of the world can't help themselves to crap it up.

I am a believer of a vehicle being an extension of its owner. I see a beat down bagged up dirty ass car/truck I try to stay as far away as possible.

I got the oem running boards put on, they stick out from the body and kind of protects the 4 doors, but looks like they turned there wheel and caught the edge of the front bumper and took the paint off the lower part of the fender flare from one end to the other, maybe i ought to fab armour with spikes sticking out all the way round, this one just happened today because i washed it yesterday evening and it wasnt there.im defintaetly going to investigate into some full body armour, or kick a dm big dent in it and forget it.

Is it any kind of slider or is it a special kind? I figured having steps that stick out might work too.

Seriously I'm in the same boat. I've had an old lady hit my sliders with her door so hard her door was bent. Right there and then I knew the cost of the sliders, which wasn't much, was worth every freaking penny.

Steps can accomplish the same thing, but sometimes they're too low. sliders are tucked up more and will protect from more cars. Only ones it won't do are full sized trucks! Those are too high.

That's true and it won't protect from sedans etc. that have the curved back door like below. It obviously won't protect your front fender/fender flares or the bed and back fender flares. But it helps the main body part.

On my last truck I had 285s that stuck out 2" over stock, and that was enough to protect that portion of the truck!

That's a smart idea actually. Currently the only marks on my truck are on the back passenger fender flare from an asshat with a door like above and then on the tailgate where I may or may not have dinged it lifting the roof rack into the bed of the truck :anonymous:. Maybe I should look into some beefier tires.

One time an idiot door dinged my wife's car when we were at Wendy's. I saw it happen and when we left, I swung the door full force and left a crater in their door. It gouged the heck out of their paint as well. They left a good size crease in our door though.

I usually don't do stuff like that unless I see it happen or have real evidence of who did it. Then whatever's done to me I'll do it back x10. I still get fired up thinking about this.

Yup, people in general are assholes. Sliders/steps are really the only option to minimize damage.
