I think you are correct, perhaps I came on a bit too strong there. That kind of thing just really gets me going.

I guess u guys didn't get the part that if he tried to robbed me he woulda got smoked. Why would a seller post it, cease contact and then post it up again? I guess that's not a hunch of a scumbag trying to rob someone? A legit seller would've sold it and be done with it. BTW, I did not threaten anyone.

Nope. Didn't get that at all from your post. At no point did you mention you thought he was trying to rob you or anyone else. All I read was that you were mad and you had a gun. Maybe he had a hot date and forgot you were coming? Maybe he's a huge dick and likes to mess with people? Maybe he just got annoyed with you? I'll point out 3 problems out with your "I got a gun" claim: 1) if it was a robbery he already had the drop on you, 2) you brought an infant to a potential gunfight, 3) you aren't John Wick.

1st off, if a gun is gonna be unholstered there's a reason for it to be unholstered.....none of that half ass gun flashing non-sense. I guess none of u would defend urself if u were getting robbed??? I wasn't bringing an infant to the actual meeting location, that's the whole point of getting a hotel.

Easiest way to see if someone's a scammer who claims to want to send people to come pick it up:

"Hey man, i'll happily save it for you, just paypal me 10% (or whatever) to reserve it and whenever you get back i'll even deliver it!"

Never hear from any of 'em again.

I think the point folks have is the fact that you came in the thread all pissy and said,

From the statements you made, one could easily and reasonably draw the conclusion that you are a hot head. That and had you and the seller met, you would have assaulted him with your firearm, or worse.

Responsible gun owners and CCWs reacted because its comments like yours that bring negative light and ill will for the rest of us.

Rather than focus on the time spent with your kid and your significant other (I am assuming an adult was with you, otherwise we are on a whole different topic about responsibilities) you focus on the woh is me position. As mentioned before you had support until the end of your childish rant where you brought your emotions and a gun into play. Not to mention you brought your two week old child in as an excuse. I LONG for the days when my kids would just STFU and sleep in their car seat with crys that barley broke 25dB. You think this is bad... wait till 2yo my friend, life is going to punt your balls into the next county.

Take a deep breath and get some sleep.. with a two week old, you are likely not getting much of it.

Tell me about it.....went from a quick informative "buyer beware" of a Craigslist seller on a TW "Craigslist Scam" thread to me driving 6 hrs to rob someone at gun point. Who woulda thought, then again. Criminals get aways with everything with the society we live nowadays.

I've bought and sold a few items on CL over the years, latest buy was a '15 OEM rear bumper, complete w/hitch takeoff for $150. Local (30 miles), nice young family man with a new Taco and a new high clearance bumper.. figured he was ok. He was. I can usually tell up front. Look for the obvious signs. He was packing heat under his shirt, that's ok.. so was I.

Nigerian prince. I gave a ration of shit to one of these a long time ago, always enjoyed it. He threatened me, my wife, my kids, my house dogs, etc.
I told to come and see me.

Someone offered to pay full price without even looking at what i was selling. He was across country and said his mover would pick it up after the money was in my paypal. After he wouldn't answer his phone, or trxt, i googled Craigslist PayPal scams and found they were somewhat common. Anyone know how this works if the money is already in your account?

I haven't heard of that^ but I had a guy offer my full asking price on my taco without looking at it(said he was too busy and didn't try to arrange a time), he said all he needed was my full name and address to send check to....my bullshit alarm was going off so I didn't respond.

I'm a police officer and we often get people wanting to report a common scam. The people will list some kind of job add or something to that effect. My last one was a job add, she did an online application and an online interview. They then sent her this letter in the mail with a check (letter was so unofficial looking, just a printed out piece of computer paper). The letter said cash the check, keep like $300 for herself, and send the rest of the money to this account number. So she does. Then they call her on the phone and tell her it was t enough money to buy the equipment they needed, they're sending her another check (it was a cashiers check from a completely different bank and state), and say to do the same thing for this one. Bank put a stop on part of the second check but not the first. She ended up out almost $7,000 dollars. I don't see how people can be so gullible.
