Sooooo, this is gonna happen over the weekend!!!

And no, that is not standard powder coat. That, my friends.... is Line-X. :p

I added a small, painted aluminum plate behind the avid logo. To get it to stay, I just epoxy'd the shit out of it. Also mounted the Cali Raised 5D combo bar.

Some frozen fingers and countless amounts of coffee later.....

By the way, it is MUCH easier to install if you pull of the grill and radiator air deflectors!

Angry taco Noted the supercharger you way down the list thing to do. I looked into it for my new truck 2017 3.5L v6 Atkinson and they don't make a supercharger for it yet?
Down the road I would like to add it also, Not that it needs it. LOL

Yeah, the Atkinson will make it tricky. I was looking at cetrifugal SC's like the ones from Rotrex, but there doesn't seem to be a good mounting point for it.

Maybe a few years from now, someone will have figured it out.

Day to day, the engine is fine, but it does loose some oomf at altitude (as all NA engines do).

Impressive that you got some of that done in December with all the snow and freezing temps we had here...

Honestly, I wouldn't know much about lifting. Never been one to raise my trucks since I use them for more than just off roading. As far as places to go, there is a place called the twin lakes in the baker forest area. I went up there at the end of last year and loved it. Take Hwy 542 to NF-3065 and take the trail all the way up. Also, on the way down, leave it in 4Lo and let the engine do the breaking on the switchbacks, otherwise you will cook your brakes.

    48°57'07.0"N 121°38'07.7"W

Those coordinates will show you the lakes at the top of the mountain. Beautiful area and there are some places to hike as well. Bring lunch for a picnic.

Truck looks great.. what rock sliders did you go with and are they a direct bolt on?

They are the ones from avid off road. They are direct bolt on and use the stock running board mounts. Because of that, they won't support the weight of the truck and can't be used as a jack point. But they do offer good side protection. I spent a pretty penny coating them and the bumper guard in line-x too.

Finally I have the full set!!!!!

Avid gear in front, back, and sides! Took some redneck engineering to get the rear lights re mounted but it looks great! All parts have been coated in line-x for maximum awesome!

Installation was pretty straight forward. I coated the brackets in spray-on bed liner for extra protection. I had a second person, but the install could be done with a jack stand as well. Overall, the guard is pretty solid!

The rear bumper looks mean. How was the install ? Any cutting or drilling?

Nope. The guard fits right over the stock bumper.

Awesome build! I really like it and am going to so something similar to my 2017 QS.........
I have a question for you, if you dont mind.

I have an Avid OR front bumper guard on order now.........and I too want to get an install a Caliraisedled 32" light bar on it. Did you find that the CR light bar fit right into the Avid front bumper with no problems? Or did you have to modify anything?

    Thanks!

Mine was a tight fit because I had my bar coated in line-x, which is pretty thick. You may need to gently persuade it into place with a rubber mallet, but she will fit without too much hassle.

Also, when installing the bar, remove your grille and the two air deflectors on the sides. You will be able to reach the mounting bolts a hell of a lot easier. Only takes 2 minutes to pull that stuff off.

My newest project: Installing an air temperature setup that I had in my old truck. The gauge is from glowshift and had two needles for separate sensors. Usually, this would be for a forced induction system (one on the hot side and one on the cold), but I have it set up for ambient and intake. As you can see in the pics, One sensor reads "ram" air from a custom grill part in my bumper and the "hot" is measured from inside my air box. I have done my best to upload the pictures in order.
