Front diff drop kit needed????!!

No regret, no vibs and currently have 26K on truck. Will be posting new pics soon as it is all put back together with new armor and all painted up.

 

Did you measure?

 

What I didn't like when my drop kit was installed was the fact that my skid plate was hanging down 1 inch lower than the back plate,also the diff attachment itself with the drop kit in was below the protection of the cross member ,so a rock hit on the 2 attachment arms could easily have busted them,causing a $1200 fix

 

There is a complete write up on this topic, with angle finders, and a bunch of math. Side pics also. Every truck seems to be different, some a dropped more, some are less. All are about 1/8th inch.

And a big hit or drop down on a rock, skid van hit the diff.

They don't recommend them because they don't work well with the product they sell?

 

It just sounds to me like they didn't even bother trying to design a skid to work with a diff drop. Listen, we could go back and forth all day and nothing's gonna change. I ran a drop on my last tacoma and plan on running one on this one too. There is no definitive proof either way and it comes down to personal preference.

 

Pretty much true,in reguards too the preference statement.Too each his own.

That was already linked at the beginning of the thread and has already been referenced. That dude was asking to get his diff fucked up with that atrocious skid design. That is clearly not how any other person will use their diff drop and is not a valid argument.

 

Read heavy into it, some dude got all mathematical with angles and a computer program.

Omg, let me find that now. Not that hard to understand that the diff drop on 2ns gens is not needed.
