Does anyone know if the 2016 shift knob will fit a 2009? My internet searches are not turning up anything.

 

Should, as long as they're both automatics. I don't think the thread size changed. Maybe the length or something may be different, but it should screw on.

Unfortunately no. I have the stock one, and there is another member here parting with his.

From what I've read the 2nd gen Tacomas are a m8 x 1.25 thread size for the automatic, and m12 x 1.25 for the manual. Maybe have the guy run by a hardware store and try to thread the correct size bolt into it.

 

well that is better than I was able to find out. I don't want to ask him to do more work on my behalf, so I will just pass on this. Appreciate the information and help.

yes, I have a set. they slide off sometimes while off roading

 

I wrapped the knob spindle in some teflon tape before pushing the knob all the way on. Havent had a prob since.
