Janeane and Tom Haney, he is the Fire Chief. She is my wife's cousin. Good people, see them at her family reunion ever year.

If I were to wear a kilt it would have to look like what the ladies of Colorado City wear.

Hmmm.. I may or may not know them. I would have to see them in person. I grew up with kids who's parents were in the Fire Dept up there. We used to work with them a lot doing food drives.

Officials enforcing mandatory evacuation for those in Mayer, west of Hwy 69 to Poland Junction.

My wife's cousin has moved her important stuff and animals to her mom's place about 8 miles away. So she is in the clear for now.

Dang. Only 7 miles from my house -maybe less now. I am in Dewey-Humboldt. Fire command is right outside of my neighborhood so there's that. Signed up to be alerted if evacuations occur. So pissed at whoever started this!!

damn man.. forgot you're in Dewey. hopefully it doesnt turn that way.. at least you have the 69 between you for a last effort.

@Chipskip let me know if you need any help..my parents and grandparents are in Spring valley and can help move things if needed. They are good as far as evacuations go... as of now anyways.

I am down to help whoever with whatever too as long as no evacuations happen for my hood. Just say the word. I have a really bad feeling that the fire is going to jump 69 which would suck.

I sure hope not.. cuz that means there are a ton of homes that will be gone if that does happen.

Keep us posted man. I'm gettin regular updates from my parents, but I think they will be ok, as long as the wind doesnt change.. so who knows.. :pout:

Thanks man. Sounds like she got all the animals in a safe place. She has been going back and fourth between her house and the animals, but they may close the road and she will have to stay with the animals. Not sure exactly were that is. Her husband is off fighting the fires, so she is doing it alone. Small, fragile looking gal, but tough as nails.

If I hear anything about her needing help, I will let y'all know.

Word. I agree about that not being good. Talked to a couple of ranchers who were ready to cut fence and let the cattle scramble so they could pack some shit up.

The wind is what worries me. I think it is supposed to blow the same through tomorrow which is good news for your folks.
