So I'm looking at new tires for my truck. It came with BFG AT's. Debating on staying with them, I really like them but they're a bit spendy. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, suggestions where to get them cheapest?

I've always been a fan of General Grabber AT2's and they are a similar tread pattern to the BFG you have, just a lot less money

I was looking at those as well. Like $100 less per tire.

I've only found them to not do super well in mud, but that is to be expected

I put an Alpine PWE-S8 into my friend's 2017 WRX using a breakout harness. I've got the same sub waiting to go into my truck. He's very happy with it. It went in quite easy, although getting through the firewall was a bit more of a challenge than I expected. They use a dual wall firewall and the best location to pop through is on the passenger side. I kept ending up in the HVAC enclosure and had to find a better way. It solves the audio issue by giving you some lows.

When I had mine, I completely gutted the audio system and did an AVIC, two amps, Polk components, Polk subs, uprated the speaker wiring in the doors, etc, etc. It was a PITA but back then the HU didn't interface with the car they way they do now so it was much easier to do.

Depending on the year, OEM wheels aren't that hard to source. The wagon wheels of the 97-99 can be had dirt cheap (I got a set with old tires for $225) and the 2000-2004 wheels can be had in the $500-600 range if you go looking. The thin spoke wheels (00-04) were prone to cracking but they were forged in some variations, which is pretty neat. There are TONS of companies making replica wheels of pretty much any stock C5 and up wheel to fit the C5. Personally, I'd try and source a set of real C5 Z06 wheels if you weren't looking to go aftermarket. I got lucky with my set.

That "friend with a dope Subaru" is a big reason I got out. It's all stancebros now.

I'll pass along the info, thanks!.

I went for a ride in my cousins STi this weekend. He changed the exhaust, added an accessport and did a few other usual things. That was a fun car to rip around bumfuck NH in and the Hyper blue looks phenomenal

What kind of driving do you do? I really like my Michelin AT2s but will likely go with Michelin MSs next. I don't off road at all so the more highway oriented tire with good winter performance is all I need.

2016. He got it brand new early last year. Thinking about it, I think he did a lot more to it then just an exhaust and access port.

I'll have to look into that. I already have the sub and powered enclosure, and I have a sub install kit.

Does he have the fancy radio?

The hyper blue is my favorite by far. Such a cool color!

Yes. It's a pain to get the HU out. You have to drop the glove box and the driver's side knee airbag.

The breakout harness is nice because it gives you a +12v to use remote turn-on wire as well as access to all the speaker connections you need to get signal. It's a shame they don't have RCAs on the back of the HU to simplify things.

I'll be doing the same thing when I tear into my truck.

On a side note, I finally got to play with my tripod for my camera. I need a better eye for photos and need to learn how to play with the settings, but they came out REALLY good. I wish I had this camera when I had my old truck to get some really good photos of it.

    EDIT:

If anyone wants me to ever snap photos of their truck that are better than potato quality cell phone shots, I'm more than happy to. I'm still learning my camera (ie I put it in auto) and my photo-editing is poor, but regardless, it's an open offer.

I remember reading up how to do it on a Sunfire for a friend and when it involved messing with the airbag wiring and I was all set with that.
