    agreed.
From what total chaos advertises its mostly because the added weight of bed racks and caps that it would help.
Nothing to do with bed flexing in cases like this.

Exactly. Putting weight onto the top of the rails of the truck, either with racks or caps, can potentially cause problems. This is exacerbated by the lateral forces that you tend to generate in off road situations. Without weight on the rails, these are just needlessly expensive tie down points.

I honestly thought the same thing and never anticipated feeling anything. Stiffening up that area decreases the flex in the rear frame. The bed gets flex due to the open c channel literally pulling the bed down with it as it flexes up and down. The bed is bolted straight to the frame. Put your truck in an off camber situation and see the bed flex. It does this with no weight in the bed or on the side rails. It's flexing like this due to the flimsy frame in the rear. Other auto manufacturers advertise how their trucks don't do this with their boxed frames. Now with my bed stiffened in that area there is resisitence to the frame flexing. Off roading I get out and look at the bed when in these situations and it stays square. Believe it or not driving around city or off road you can feel the difference. About as simple and fast as I can explain it. I swear it's true on my truck lol. Try the product out, its only $150 or so

I'm done defending this product guys. If you don't see any flex in that area of your truck while off roading, even with no weight, then you must have a different brand of truck than me. Thinking that flexing is going to cause no harm is naive.

When installing this product i noticed how unsquare and how far my bed sides got pulled back in, just after one off road trip with no weight on side rails. I'm just not going to take that chance of continual separation and spreading knowing I'm going to use my truck and eventually RTT.

Nope, just take your time and make sure you follow the directions. The hardest part for me was drilling the holes on a brand new truck.
