Oh and dont put a lot of weight in the zestimates. Sometimes they can be off by a decent bit.

If I sell now, a special adjuster has to come out and value my property. They take the sale cost now (back into the program) and subtract the original sale cost. I have to give back half of that. So basically walk away with ~5k (plus whatever I have paid off of the house).

if I sell in 11 years, I can list for full value, but I have to give back half of the price. I get to keep the other half. And hopefully it will be paid off, so I can put all of that in my pocket, and not have to pay it to a bank.

How long is your mortgage term? If you can afford to double up on payments and no prepayment penalty, it will knock down the principal real quick. If you cant do that, then you could always round up to the next hundred, or even add a hundred or two to each payment. A little goes a long way over the length of a mortgage.

It already seems to be booming. My dad lives in socal. Bought his house back in the early 90s. When metro came through a few years back, he said his house value jumped considerably. Its within walking/biking distance and in a beautiful neighborhood.

30 year. I have been putting my bonus from work, and my tax return into the principal. My mortgage company has a calculator that lets me enter the final date that I want to pay it all off. If I pay $300 more per month, for the next 11 years, I can get it done by my target date

I am 2 miles from One Loudoun, 3 miles from the expected metro spot. And I dont have any buildings behind my house. Just trees, a field, and the WO&D bike trail.

Fit and finish. I'll bring one of the ones I'm building down with me next time and you can take a look.

Kimber makes a good gun (my personal carry peice is built on a kimber slide/frame), but they are finished by machine. A hand made 1911 is hand fit, and all the bearing surfaces are polished (lapped technicaly) so they slide like greased glass.

Rack the slide on your kimber and you'll feel some grit, and some points where it seems to catch. None of that on a Wilson or Nighthawk.

The other big difference is testing, a high end (wilson, nighthawk, Springer TRP) have at least 500 rounds through them before leaving the shop, so you know there are no issues with stacked tollerances or other problems that a Kimber, Colt, or similar might have.

The flip side to all that, is that a high end gun will almost certainly be picky about mags and ammo, because all the tolerances are tighter. However the manufacturer can say with a high degree of confidence that 'it works with this mag, and this ammo, 100%).

I personally like the Wilson combat 1911 magazines.

The Wilson 47D is the industry standard.

Wow, I totally forgot about this thread. Quick question for the fellow Northern Va Tacoma brethren.

I have a 2012 stock Offroad 4x4 that has 105K miles on it. The shocks are about toast and need changing. Would like to either go with 5100's all around or 6112 up front and replace the backs. Where is the best place to go to do this? What mechanics in the Centreville/Chantilly/Fairfax area do you guys trust?

    Many thanks in advance!

@IPNPULZ was asking this a while ago. There are several people locally to help you if you dont want to pay a shop.

Also depends on what you are going to be using the truck for. Do you want a lift?

The @fatfurious2 shop is where many go to get stuff installed. I think some 5100s would be a good choice to go with.

Have you seen the method of using a floor jack beneath the LCA and decompressing the coil that way? Did that with my last truck and it was a piece of cake. I would never use a spring compressor either on truck coils.
