Toyota Platinum Extended Warranty

He did mine but that was back in April. The funny thing is IF these other reps would sell at reasonable rates we all wouldn't have to buy out of state or from other dealers.

So how would that work if im financing the truck?? Do I cancel from the dealer I got it from then buy it in cash from Troy??

 

I cancelled mine ... it was factored into my financing. Since it is financed, the refund is sent to Toyota financial and applied to your principal.

Been waiting for two weeks for it to be applied before I purchase a new policy

You will have to call extended warranty number and ask for cancellation. They made me fax over the reqaust

 

New in the forum - just purchased my TRD Pro not too long ago and was charged $3500 for the Platinum (7 years/100K) ... with all the information written here, I'm second guessing the platinum purchase. Also, I paid another $1200 for Toyota Care Plus (Maintenance)... I'm still contemplating IF i really needed it since I know I can do my basic maintenance (oil change/brake pads etc). Any advice would help, I think I have 30 days to cancel and anything after that, it'll be a prorated refund. Thanks TW!

 

Sounds pretty high to me on the warranty and as far as TCP - I would cancel if you can DIY.

 

Don't hold your breath on this guy ever replying. Called several times, and sent numerous emails, never heard a peep back.

You did get taken to the cleaners, and the maintenance plan only covers oil changes / rotations, not worth it at all.

 

I have used jerry johnson at midwestern superstore in the past, imo great guy with great pricing. Awhile back it seems Toyota stopped the internet sales of VSC contracts but I believe you can buy out of state again now. To be sure just call Toyota Financial services to confirm. I'd cancel both. You got ripped on the warranty. Not sure if the vehicle matters, but I bought my wife a Sienna last August (MSRP 38k) and the Platinum 100k was only $1600 at our dealer, but I declined.

Update: I was able to cancel both warranties (faxed a request form) that was tacked on when I purchased the vehicle (platinum & maintenance). All with a full refund back to the financial lien holder. Toyota Financial Services said that it will be deducted on the total amount of the vehicle since it was financed. Now I just have to check monthly that the total did get reduced. Will be shopping for just the platinum warranty for way less now that I know I can do that. Thanks TW!

 

Just emailed my local dealer to see what they say. Odds are they will be overpriced...They were with the truck so I drove 2 hours for a better deal.

 

I called to cancel mine today, within the 30 day period. They require a written notice faxed as well. They don't refund the tax, in my case that's $105. $1500 at 7%. they told me I need to go back to the dealership to get the tax portion refunded, craziest thing i ever heard of.
