I was just thinking about this over the weekend. My wife's car is push button and after driving in it all weekend it was nice to have. Keys never come out of pocket and it just seems more convient.
I think there is too much that goes along with it to convert our trucks the right way.
Sensor to tell if the key is inside the car. Lock/unlock button on the handles. Also if the battery on the key dies there is a place on the dash to plug in the key to start the car.

I didn't read all the post so here are my thoughts. I like the idea and how it works in my GF's car. But when I work on my truck there are times I just need to turn on the ACC, or want to start it without getting my dirty ass in the truck. So this button would cause issues there. You have to be in the truck and pressing the break to start it. Those are my thoughts.

On that video it defeats the purpose because you still have to have the key. This just adds a step in turning on your car. I will stick with my key.

That looks sweet, if some one comes up with a conversion kit to make it somewhat easy to install they could make alot of cash on TW alone, put me down for two: one for my taco and one for my 4-runner.

How would you turn off your car if the throttle gets stuck:confused::eek::p

If you hold it down to shut it "off" wouldnt it lock the steering wheel?

Yeah, convert it so that when your accelerator gets stuck, you can't turn off the engine.

If it were a full on conversion to a proximity key I'd def consider. I love the smart key on my Infiniti G37. I never have to take the key out of my pocket. This just looks to be one of the S2000 (I wanna feel cool) type of buttons. Get in, put the key in and turn it to "on" and then press the button. No thanks.

really isn't it just connect the wires from the key switch to the button? and the push start connect the juice all the way through it and then pushing it again would kill the voltage? I was a guy do it on a 2005 mustang.... he still had to turn the key on, but it didn't start until he pushed the button.... I like the idea... except i would like it if the key stayed in pocket and just push a button.
