That damage looks odd. Looks like you hit the deer in the front right corner obviously but there is dent/damage on the rear passenger door?

Did his brother jump out of nowhere and dropkick your back door?

Negative. I think the deer kicked flung around. There is blood around the area. Indeed odd.

Looks pretty normal for a front corner hit. Usually get damage all the way to the rear quarter as the deer rebounds back into the body.

It's good that you don't know that. My wifes Volvo is in the shop right now getting fixed from the second deer in 6 months. Both hit the front right corner, destroying the bumper, hood, and fender, but did extensive damage to both side doors. I was lucky and hit both of mine centered so there was no side damage.

Passenger door doesn't open and hood/left side look warped. My question is the adjusters typically do a quality/thorough job? I'd hate to get it back in a month and something not be right.

The quality job will depend on who's actually fixing the truck. You should be able to had the estimate done and then check with your favorite body shop and work that out where the insurance pays your choice of shop to do the repairs

Right. I've got a highly recommended shop lined up. My question was not clear. Will the adjuster document all of the damage accurately? I don't need to be over his shoulder to pointing out shit? I have to work so that is not an option.

Good shops warranty their work so it usually isn't a problem. They all use the same parts and most insurances work about the same. Like anything else, mistakes can happen. If and when it does, let the shop know and they will usually make it right.

I would imagine they'll do a good job, but the extent of damage could go up as they disassemble for repair

The adjuster will give an estimate that will grow once the parts are taken off and hidden damage is found. It's normal. Don't worry. The shop will work with the insurance company for further repairs not on the initial estimate.

My wife hit one in our Acura and I just called insurance told them what/when/where it happened and took it to the shop and they handled it from there.

Yeah don't worry about it man. Especially if you have it at a good shop, they know how to do the dance.

All you have to do is come up with the deductible and let the shop and insurance company do the rest. Hopefully your insurance includes a rental while it's in the shop. My wife is currently driving a 2017 4Runner while hers is worked on. We told them take their time as we'd enjoy putting the miles on the 4Runner. I'm just tired of paying deductibles. I've paid it 4 times in the last 12 months. I guess it's the cost of driving.

    Bone stock...
try to leave the hair until the insurance adjuster gets there... hard to argue with fur sticking out of your bumper (not that they would really question you anyway). Also- never had any success with deer whistles but if you see them on the side of the road trying to decide whether to run or not, just give them a honk. I do it every time and they always run back into the woods. My neighbors hate me but it works like a charm.

Another thing, good shops are usually booked several weeks out. Don't be surprised if they can't get to it right away.
