In for aluminum for 3rd generation, if not too late.

One question, can I order additional items (outside the group buy discount) such as a recovery bar in the same order to save on shipping?
In for the skid buy regardless of the answer.

Love my steel skids! Can say that they saved me few times last weekend when we did some basic rock crawling.

You won't be disappointed with the quality!

Bummer, doesn't look like the Mobtown website is set up to allow shipping to businesses (At least the shipping estimator isn't) I ship to work all the time for large/heavy shipments since my office is a scheduled daily stop for FedEx weather or not we have a delivery or pickup. The price is usually cheaper because of that. Do you know if the shipping charges correlate with exact shipping or is it just set by the Zip code?

Or I can just shut up and be grateful for the 15%, let me know

FedEx charges us based on weight. If the weight of your order doubles, so does the shipping cost. So you could pay for 1/2 the weight and 1/2 the price on two separate orders or 100% of the weight and 100% of the price on one order. Either way you'll end up paying the same amount for shipping.

You get charged our account rate. As far as I know, there isn't a different in cost to a business or residence.

I did not forget about you, I am trying to get the quote together. It is not a simple thing to get a quote into Canada. A lot of customs stuff to get through.

    EDIT: Replied to your email

Im interested in this as well. I added the sliders to my cart on your website and it wont calculate shipping. Just the skids was like 115 bucks, but once I add the sliders it wont calculate anymore. I understand the sliders need to go on a pallet to a shipping depot.

Again, this requires you to contact us because sliders ship LTL Freight and skids ship FedEx Ground. The website won't combine them. More often than not it is no cheaper to combine sliders and skids on one pallet because then I have to crate them, and they are heavier and typically the price comes out to the same.

    Correct.

Our website calculates rates based on our account rates. The cost doesn't differ whether it is going to a business or a house. It is all based off of weight and volume density.

Not trying to be a dick, but I think its my default state, so sometimes its hard not to be a dick...
I was just using the shipping estimator, so that may be my first error.

Shipping estimates from Mobtown.com to Floriduh for 2 separate orders for skid plates and recovery bar:
2016+ Recovery Bar (only), lists as 55 lb, $47.64 shipping
2016+ Front, Tranny, Transfer in aluminum, lists as 32 lb+22 lb+25 lb=79 lb, $97.86 shipping
Totals for shipping to 47.64+97.86 = $145.50 shipping

As a single order the website estimates:
2016+ Recovery Bar+3 Skids in aluminum, $135.50 shipping

So supposedly $10 shipping cheaper if one order using the website estimator. I am certainly not letting $10.00 spoil anything, but I thought it was worth asking...

So is the answer that we need to make the group buy purchase for skids only and any other purchases separate, or I ask too many questions = NO skids for me?

I do not have an answer for you, if one way is cheaper then just do that. We really have no idea how it works that might sound stupid to say. But it is simply a plug-in on our website that is linked directly to FedEx. We do not touch it nor do we control how do you adjust or calculate the rate. Our website is literally the middleman for how the rates are calculated. The only thing we do is enter the weight and the dimensions of each item and FedEx calculated it based off of that and our rate.

    No! Ha ha

We prefer that you email us because we do not get on Tacoma world as often as you would think. A lot of stuff gets lost on Tacoma world because people would just tag us on different threads or message us and ask about their order to give us no information as to who they are. The forum has nothing to do with our company so we would really prefer you to email us so that way nothing gets lost in translation. I did see his email and I've been working on getting a quote, but it is not a simple thing when trying to ship out of the country. I replied to him this morning.

No, you aren't asking too many questions.

I think the difference you are seeing is just money in the wind to FedEx (bastards make too much). Estimating and rounding adjustments if you will. For the most part, as a general rule, our rates are based on weight. Double the weight, double the price. What you calculated is almost in line with that, +/- a little bit. If you can combine things and our site gives you a number you want, then by all means go for it. For ppl on the fence about whether to combine orders, you aren't going to save a very large amount of money by doing so (I understand money is money and saving anything is awesome). I wouldn't take out a loan to by a recovery bar now to combine with skids just to save on shipping. The savings (if any) won't be much.

    Hope that helps.

I got your reply and thanks. Bummer though, 200 bills for shipping combined with the x1.3 usd/cdn exchange rate on everything (including the shipping) and I'm sure there will be some border fees on anything that large makes it pretty spendy for me at the moment. Hopefully the trump effect will bring the dollar back on par some time soon.
