    Good morning everyone,

I had a set of Tyger Auto step bars in my Amazon cart for awhile and just noticed today they dropped $50 so they're $230.36 shipped 2 day (Amazon Prime) right now and I wanted to let the TW community know to get in on the Deal. They're a great looking bar for an even better price!

Oh bummer! I was shocked to see them drop $50 in "one go" normally you see price vary a few dollars but not this much. I had to jump on the deal!

Have you installed them? If so, are you happy with them? They seem to be great quality and have awesome reviews.

Congrats on that deal, I love them very well made and heavy duty. They stick out a little further than my stock 5" ovals did so should help with door dings20170626_162957.jpg 20170626_162947.jpg

Had mine since April as well, no issues at all. I'd prefer a hard tonneau, but for the price, this one is great.

I bought these on Amazon three weeks ago for $223, then they went up to $283 and now they are back down to $230...weird price swings...anyway, they come in a HUGE box and they are HEAVY. The box pretty much got destroyed when they were shipped to me. The step bars themselves were packed very well and they were undamaged, but either they forgot to include the mounting bolts or they fell out of one of the holes created in the box during shipping.

Quality wise, they are pretty nice, especially the textured coating, but they are VERY heavy. Since they didn't have the bolts it gave me the opportunity to return them when Amazon said they would ship a whole new set of bars (including bolts) but could not just ship the bolts or refund my money. I contacted the manufacturer about getting bolts, but never heard back from them. I decided to return them because for something that mounts to the body (as opposed to the frame) and doesn't provide real protection off-road, I felt they were just too heavy. I had to repackage them in a giant furniture box and it was a HUGE PITA. Amazon said shipping weight is 77 lbs, but I thought that was much lighter than they were...when I shipped them back, they weighed them at UPS and they were 97 lbs. Like I said, too heavy for me for what was.

All that aside they appeared to be VERY well-made and if you like the rock-slider look but don't want to spend rock-slider money, these will fit the bill. The only things I didn't like were, obviously, the weight, and not crazy about the star designs. They are a GREAT deal for what they are for $230.

So we basically had an identical experience. I got mine at the $230 price, they also came in a damaged box and no mounting hardware. I was pissed. Contacted Amazon and they basically told me 'tough shit, return everything or return nothing'. Ain't nobody got time fo that. So I then contact the manufacturer and they took 3 days to contact me back. They apologized and promised to send the bolts but I've seen nothing 1 week later.

That said I did mount them with hardware I purchased at my local auto parts house, total cost was under $4. It's no joke when you say these things are heavy. I mounted them solo, using a floor jack and cordless ratchet. I still felt like I was bench pressing them. The quality is super heavy duty. The black textured powder coating plays well with the Quicksand color. At the end of the day, they're definitely a cop out to TRUE sliders, which I will get someday. For now these help my passengers get in and out of the truck and will protect the truck from shopping carts and door dings.

LOL...yep, that was my experience to a T. Amazon suggested I buy the hardware locally and they would reimburse me (so, if they didn't reimburse, you contact them again and get your $4! :)) After reading our identical experience I'm thinking the hardware didn't fall out, they just forgot to include it on more than one box. They are indeed HD and like I said, for the price, a great deal for what they are.

Well knowing my luck I'm sure the hardware will also be missing. Do you guys recall the sizes and amount needed? Did you go with Grade 8?

Pretty crazy they're almost 100lbs but I guess that's to be expected given the metal and powdercoat. Excited to receive and install them. I wanted them not only for looks, but for function to help get myself and passengers into the truck. I ripped a pair of shorts in the crotch getting into the truck the other day.:frusty:

Since they're metric bolts... I got class 8.8 which is similar to Grade 5.
Looking back now maybe I should have gone with class 10.9 which is similar to Grade 8.
