Had to replace calipers as well when I did mine. Them pins just would not come out. Ended up morphing from hitting them. And I did spray them a day ahead of time and then during working as well. So be it. New stuff is ok.

Yup, plugged right in, as did everything else. The Cruise control pin out is different, but plugs into the same connector. I stole this idea from @COMAtized99. I got the whole column from the slip joint up. I couldn't find much info on wheel swaps from 3rd gen runners to 1st gen tacos. I have read about various Lexus swaps and a RAV4 wheel on here though. Someone said the airbag was not compatible with Tacos due to crumple zones etc., but I don't see how they could be any different as the Taco is nearly identical to the 4Runner and the front half of the passenger compartment is dimensionally the same. Airbag sensors are located in the same spots.

If you have the correct rims just jump up to Tundra brakes

Junkyard near my work always has 4runners- but never Tacomas. I have scavenged a bunch of 4Runner stuff and grafted it into the interior of my truck.

Quick question, didn't know where to ask. But are all boxes the same throughout 96-04? Found a 98 box that I need for my 96.

Be a little more descriptive when you say box because not all are the same as you can see

Smart ass lol. Just a xtra cab box to another xtra cab box. Mines all rusted out and a shop told me there are slightly different but I don't see how.

That is pretty much what happened to me. I tried knocking them out but I just ended up crushing one end of the pin.

Rather be a smart one than a dumb one. And I guess you're talking about the cab itself. I'd say no they are the same

    Damn

I always thought "box" referred to "bed"

See that's why details are necessary, I thought at first he was talking about air box. Then posted about rust :notsure:

I've always called it a bed

I replaced pads/rotors about 30k ago (167k) and now it seems as though my rotors are slightly warped(197k now). Thinking it's due to the calipers having some rust build up which I tried to clean up good. Anyways, I'll probably do the tundra brake upgrade. Anyone want to chime in on that?

Calling me a dumb one for calling a bed a box? Wow haha. But ya it's the bed. Wanted to double check on here before purchasing as I was told some wrong information

Haha no I'm not calling you dumb. Just saying I'd rather be called a smart ass than a dumb ass. But nah 6 foot bed is the same as another 6 foot bed

As long as you have 16" rims you're good. Check out this and get some wheelers brake lines:
