    I used 1/4 aluminum 1.375 x 2 and drilled a .375 hole in the middle.
    I dont have any more stock. Its easy to find. Also look for "old man emu
    carrier bearing shim kit" on google It is like 20.00 with shipping.
    It has new bolts and fabbed shims. It will help you out too..

    I did this mod this past weekend... 2006 DC Taco w/3" lift here... Driveline vibes are GONE... If you have the vibes and have a 3" lift... this is the way to go!

    oil change...
    Ive been getting a little bit of "shudder" from a dead take off. I think Im gonna try this and see if it helps. Could I just use a few washers as the spacers?

    It could work - but probably make more sense to be safe with the drivetrain and use the CB Drop Spacers:
    I mean, why risk it.

    That's an even better idea... Oh and I should note that the kit I bought came with new lock washers, reg. washers, and two bolts.

    Instructions say to loosen both bolts FIRST, THEN pull out one bolt at a time to install each side one at a time.

    After I got both bolts threaded in and against the metal, I used a torque wrench and torqued down to 50ftlbs of torque.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't the aluminum spacer speed up corrosion where it contacts the frame and the bolts? The whole differing metals thing.

    just to say about mine....my frame and all underneath is rusty as hell....and the alum has had no effect on anything else that i can tell. and my frame has been rusty since i got the truck.

    i bought the spacers from toytec and they didn't do anything at all. i still have the same shudder from take off (4-8 mph). any other ideas?

    try adding another set of 1/4 spacers in there. if it doesnt help....may need to add shims to the rear axle.....or get the transmission shudder tsb done(if that includes your truck).

    I have had the shims w/no spacer for the last 2 years and I had a shudder from take off. I just added the Old Man Emu spacer and it helped quite a bit. The shudder is still there but barely noticeable unless I am really feeling for it.

    I just did this and i used washers. 3 made it a 1/4 inch. there was a spacer already there from my lift but after the washers...unfreakin believable!!!!!!!! talk about smooooooth. I love it. Its amazing what a lousy 1/4 inch change in the driveshaft will do for you.

    this stuff works!!!!!!!!!!!!
