My new toy

This is my new 2010 Ultralite Rockwood 2701SS. Picked it up in Albany, NY from New Brunswick, Canada. Got it with my 2006 DC LWB Tacoma. It has the towing package. Dry weight of TT is 5000lbs. Plan on doing very short trips (less than 50 miles each way) during the Summer months and no water in it so should keep it under 5800lbs. Pulled great but you know it's there. Hopefully, everything will go good this Summer. I have the predogy Brake controller, torsion control and sway bars. I will just take it slowly. It's not a marathon!!

Nice with the tow package he should be fine as it comes with the oil cooler and trans cooler. I say you'll be fine I am not talking about long trips, I think the camper is a bit heavy but for your 50 mile jaunts you'll be ok.

I should say that the pic makes the camper look a bit on the long side, more than it is. It's a 29 foot Ultralite at about 5000lbs. Loaded, 5800lbs max. Not sure if I need the timbren stops, any suggestions?

 

My suggestion is sell the tacoma and get a full size. Safety first Bro, I dont care what the max tow rating is. That trailer is in control of your truck.
