Camping Monday with a bunch of guys from the gunshop and a BUNCH of NFA items. It won't be fireworks that you hear (or don't hear) from our camp.

Camping at Potlatch on South Hood Canal. Some FS roads and High Steel Bridge up there I'd like to explore.

High steel bridge is pretty cool. Just before it you'll see a trail that goes down on the left side. It goes to the top of the 150ft waterfall and to some pools to swim in. Pretty steep so may not be the best for kids or dogs though

I'll be out at Mason Lake (near Belfair) this weekend. I put on the fireworks show every year that happens on the third of July. If you have friends with a place on the lake, come out and watch. :)

I'm from Redmond and can recommend some great areas if you ever go back. Right around the bend from you there is a place called Skull Hollow where some pioneers were massacred, pretty spooky, great trails though.

Speaking of Oregon I'm heading down for this. The whole area is going to be packed with tourists but I have some camping spots that only a local would know. Would anyone like to cruise down with me?

I was thinking about somewhere close to the beach but I just read an article saying that there's over a 50% chance clouds on the coast will screw up the viewing and chances are best the closer you get to eastern OR. I'm camping with my wife and daughter Saturday night near Tillamook and I was thinking of getting up Sunday and heading for a spot, camping and whooping it up til the eclipse. Is that too many? I'd love to meet up in Portland and cruise down if it's not. We're party-friendly!!
