Honda does this too with their Taffeta White. It's not as uncommon as you think. Take a look at white Tacos and you'll start to notice how many of them them look dull. Premature fading/damage is not a forgone conclusion. It takes work but you can keep them looking like new. Mine is almost 3 years old and shines brighter than than the day it rolled off the lot. I bust my ass to keep it that way

Guys mine in not neglect, I can assure you that. It's been waxed at least twice yearly since I have owned it (purchased while 2 years old in 2010). I guess 10 years of being outside will do this. I wonder how much it would cost to have the roof, hood, and front bumper refinished. Not cheap I'm sure, and prob not worth it.

By waxing twice a year, you're doing better than the average vehicle owner but given your paint's current condition we can assume it wasn't enough. Does someone wax it for you or do you do it yourself? Keep in mind, carnuba wax really is at it's best for about a month. Synthetic waxes (sealants) can last much longer. Just to give you an idea, I use a synthetic that is supposed to last 6 months but I apply it every 2 months just because the sun can be so harsh here. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but I just don't think twice a year is going to save your finish especially in the Florida sun

Some metallics are more sensitive to UV then other colors, I believe. My Radiant Red 06 has not seen a garage for over 2.5 years, and looks just fine. Of course, I'm in southern Kentucky, not Florida. My Mother had a 72 Caddy in Florida with Red paint that looked like yours in 5 years...

No amount of wax can protect if you run your car through those spinning brush washes, or use the foaming brush handle at the self serve. The pics in OPs post show a LOT of RIDS (random isolated deep scratches) that could be from paint failure, but it looks like straight up improper care.

That's accurate. Overall exterior care extends far beyond regular washing/waxing.

I'm in Sarasota as well and my paint is getting a few faded spots. Mainly the roof and hood. I wax it 3-4 times a year and water still beads off. The doors look perfect except for the door handles. I don't think any amount of waxing is going to help with being outside in the sun 365.

Gotta wax and polish your car often. Only real way I have been able to prevent any fading for 15 years. I use nupolish 3-5 times a year. A lot of work, but cheaper than repainting. (btw, I live in phoenix where its 115+ most of summer with almost direct sunlight)

Edit: Also, never use the auto car washes. I always do by hand
