I just got up and finished feeding myself breakfast now, despite my wimpy banker's hours body telling me I've got more hours of sleep to accomplish.

I'm missing stuff... I just know it... Hopefully I'll figure that out as I load

I'm still used to Washington where I can go into Safeway and get hard alcohol, so it looks like my Bailey's and marshmallows are on prohibition. Maybe that's what I'm forgetting

Bitcheries missed out! Good trails and killer food. Weather was perfect and we mobbed all of Archer's. I'd get a video up but it's a bit hard it here in the woods. In the meantime...

Man looks to be so much fun. If you guys need maybe on the next trip I can bring a trunk full of nice clean woods for you guys to use. I'm still a rookie so no off roading for me yet. Wouldn't mind to come by and have a look since I hit the areas often.

Having passengers is always a good time. I am trying to get a bunch of projects in line before I head back out, plus I'm not great at planning (other than this event) until I get on top of things.

I feel you on that. I do have many projects that needs to be done. Maybe rolling with you guys a few time might help make it happen quicker.

Right rear brake was completely worn, metal-on-metal. Made it a bitch to take the rotor off and I fucked up the wheel cylinder in the process. The left side was a lot easier. I replaced the rotor, pads and springs. Bled brake lines and test drove. I can tell I need to adjust them a little more to firm up the brake pedal but otherwise I'm done. You were right - once I took a side apart and figured out how it goes together, the other side went together quickly. Years ago I remember paying $700 to fix drum brakes and Brake Stop still re-used old parts and fucked up the repair. Fixing the brakes myself AND replacing every part with new only ran $170.

That other occasional grinding noise we heard was from the steering pump. I'm going to try taking that bastard out tonight and see if cleaning the filter screen helps.

Yea you can adjust them by hand pretty quick, or just drive forward and backwards awhile. Lol

It's still crazy to think that your brake was the problem. I can't imagine how the shoe was holding so tight? Maybe water got inside from one of the mud holes, causing a suction effect or something? I figured with metal on metal, the drum would spin. Craziness...

Well, removed the steering fluid reservoir and cleaned out the screen (it didn't look too bad). Just as a last resort took out the steering pump and gave it a good look. Replaced the fluid and put it all back together and it sounds a tiny bit better, but still horrible. Got a rebuilt pump ordered that should arrive tomorrow. Hopefully that'll fix the issue because I'm supposed to take the truck camping this weekend.
