It's running good so far and really like the look. The 3.5 bs really takes some more fanageling than my other wheels. I've got to have the proper caster, trim in multiple places, cab mount chop, and pound the punch weld. If you're not willing to do some work it may be better to go with a less aggressive setup.

Thank you, sounds like the 4 might be better then. Im just trying to avoid hitting the UCAs with the TRD wheels, not sure of the backspacing on them.

Dakar's on. Slight driveline shimmy when starting from a stop. Got the driveline drop spacers from ARB and some 3* shims coming from Wheeler's to have on hand.

I've driven a second generation Access Cab with the Dakar's on the rear with no shell and it was way stiff so I was a little worried about that being an issue. Apparently my shell, Prinsu rack, and Bedslide really calm them down and the ride is quite nice. I could honestly even do stiffer and not be unhappy with the ride. This is good news if I need to do the AAL at some point. I'm just happy to have the rear lean gone and some ability to reduce sag.

Didn't realize 295 was a tire option. Are you happy with them?

Yes, happy with them for sure. I really want 315's but we're always longing for more. I've seen the 285's in person and just think the 295's look a little beefier.

Haven't calculated it but I get about 250-275 miles per tank...but I live in Utah and hills are a daily thing for me. I also believe my Prinsu rack in the front is causing some resistance based on fairing location as I can feel it pushing and pulling when driving. I have yet to play with that but will soon. Before the rack and these tires I was closer to 300 miles per tank.

Is that adjusted for the larger diameter too? (X 1.07 or so). Right now I have 255's but wider tires are so appealing (if for nothing else but looks :D). Also should have my swingout arriving soon, so no reason not to upgrade. It's a hard decision!

Good point. That is not corrected. Honestly have no idea how to go about that, haven't looked into it.

Pelfreybilt bumper has been installed with my Bulldog 20" bar a pods. I LOVE the look. We actually modified the center hoop to sit about 2" lower than they come from Pelfrey. That was the one thing that held me back for so long from buying the bumper; I hated how high the hoop was on the 05-11 version. There is no better front bumper design for me so I decided to just bite the bullet and modify it myself and it turned out awesome. Most people won't even notice but if it was up next to a normal 05-11 Pelfrey with center hoop you'd notice a big difference. Looks better this way in my opinion.

Got back from a weekend at a cabin in the mountains. We explored a little during the day. Nothing extreme but sure was fun to get out for a few hours.

Best picture for reference on new hoop height. @Pelfreybilt

I'm close to pulling the trigger on the @Pelfreybilt rear high clearance. Like always, probably take me weeks to come to grips with handing over the money. :bananadead:

Very nice! The bumper looks perfect. In my opinion even the 12-15 looks a bit high.

Yes, even in these pictures my hoop looks really high but in person it looks much better. I wanted to go even further down but was worried about cutting off too much and then looking at it and thinking I wished it had been higher. Maybe some day.

So glad I found this thread...as you can see from my thread we have extremely similar setups and I probably have about the same OCD with mine. I'm sold on the SCS F5's and just looking for the right tire for them...torn between 315's and 285's but the 295's look really solid and like a good middle ground between the two. I just find it hard to justify the awful MPG and extra work it takes to make 315's work. I'm running Dakars in the back with the HC rear and have an add a leaf going in when I get back to the states in a few months. I think it desperately needs it. Even with just the shell it felt a little soft. Also going to upgrade to 700# springs in the icons up front. I have the aluminum front but added a winch and things aren't light up there. Sounds like you're really happy with the 295's? Really looking at going with that. I'm thinking of going black on the F5's as I'm pretty happy with my derp'd stock wheels right now. Been looking around forever for F5's on a Pyrite to check the colors. Cheers to a great looking truck!

I really love the F5's. They're just a classic looking wheel to me. To be honest, my color F5's is my least favorite they offer. At the time I had someone ready to buy my TRD wheels for near the same price I could buy the F5's new. I didn't want to loose the buy so I went ahead with it and this was the only color SCS had in stock so I just had to go with it. My first choice would have been black and the second bronze. Oh well. Maybe someday I'll get them powdercoated.

The 295's are a nice size. I think they give a little bump over the 285's that I really like. It isn't night and day difference from 285's but you can notice. With the 3.5bs F5's I still do rub on the fenders even after trimming. I'll need to do some more. Honestly I'm already planning for 315's this year. That size just looks right on a Tacoma to me but there is a lot of extra expense as I will be regearing as well. I keep going back and forth on the idea. 295's are probably big enough but it's hard to not think of bigger and more clearance. :)
