Finding a late model place in Houston, like that was very difficult. Had to go to San Antonio.

 

The they pull it parts yards are mostly garbage now. LKQ owns 90% of them and they all have shitty customer servixe. The one local place I found, while expensive, was at least a pleasant dude to work with.

 

but does the girl from the LKQ commercial not work there? I mean that counts for something

 

I'm using car-part.com to find where these trucks are. There are about 30 of them about 100 miles around me. They are really friendly in San Diego for parts. Everywhere else it seems like I'm just wasting my time with them.

 

Not at the one near me. It's some crusty old dude that seemed offended that I was younger than him and knew what I was talking about.

I'm also doubled screwed in that my pick n pull yard is always picked clean, and all the parts and up on eBay. Even had some dude try and steal my tools the last time I was there.

My stuff is the junk no one needs for the most part, but you can't get it at a toyota dealership really. Figure no one is going to the junk yard 4th of july weekend.

haha he is freakin everywhere, there are no vacant billboards in Alabama. but I assume he gets a good bit of business cuz he has to have a half million dollar rent bill a month on billboards; but I bet he could point you in the direction of a recently wrecked taco

Don't know about that. I don't have a historic car, modified or otherwise. I've only been in VA for a year. I work in MD, though.

Couldnt get the tune to work at all (tried pullin some voltage before initial crank). Talk to madtaco a bit and finally just reloaded the stock tune and it fired up and i actually had to add some voltage it places ??? But anyway it idles a little high out of gear but in gear its pretty good and afr's are at or just below 14.7 for the most part. No one was at my friends house so i couldnt really get a street tune, but his driveway is almost a mile long so i did go down and back with no accelerator adjusting as i went. Also if u dont ride the brake, it wants to run 25mph haha. Hopefully ill get a copilot soon and even some stuff out
