Here is what the data collectors will be getting. This is starting to take shape. @OVTune when will the email be sent out? I want to get data to you ASAP.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
While waiting for results I was able to get dynamat extreme behind the rear seats. Hopefully the fyno results will be good too.

OVTune Alpha Flash base results and info.

Customer vehicle : 2017 TRD, stock, auto. (aftermarket wheels)

    some notable info
Reflash and throttle development was our primary goal, while showing our base results on an otherwise stock vehicle.
    -stock rev limit (customer request)
-main goal is improving throttle and transmission response
    - mid range power increase
    - not pushing the engine, (customer request)

stock baseline of two runs put the truck right at about 121-122HP to the rear wheels.
The engine power is surprisingly very similar to the 2GR FSE 3.5L variant in terms of peak torque and peak HP with a majority of power being up top, makes sense as it is a 2GR variant.
    notable info :
    - the engine simply can't breathe up top. logging maf rates, load etc with various changes to camshafts the engine in stock configuration really runs out of breath up over 5000.

below about 4000 RPM we could see toyotas throttle ramping before full throttle (i'll try to get you a log snippet to show you), as previously explained it's part of toyotas new calibration code for "a flat torque curve."

    6itkrq_183273c5c320adf9b4da3d5a94801ffbb6156677.jpg

    changes to the tune are:
Alpha 91 octane reflash for stock rev limit
ignition timing / fuel / camshaft / gearbox control / ECT throttle mapping / non ECT throttle mapping / torque limitations mapping and more
-ECT adjustments and ECT throttle mode adjustments
    - non ECT throttle adjustments

We did about 60-70 runs / drives collecting data in ECT / non ECT, etc so we could tailor throttle adjustments, which was more important to us and the owner of the car than just maximizing gains.
here are some runs throughout the process showing increase of adjustments (not all of course)
    2pt1pj5_5a967604100878e3e44722431c23118797a754a1.jpg
main adjustments to fix mid range torque
    2qukdux_c06129efc7c7e488e4b4f23bc08f66f342dfb234.jpg

    overall:
we see very large gains possible throughout the mid-range 20-30+ ft lbs increase from 2700 RPM onward, with midrange HP following suit.
Top end gains (with only mild adjustments) around 8-9+HP increase on stock rev limit
the focus: throttle adjustments and throttling control. (success)

This was a great start to get everything moving along smoothly, verify some of our results and calibrate throttle mapping and ECT / non ECT throttle control maps, along with torque limit maps. This tune was not even "pushing" the truck / engine in any way. only very mild changes to top end with a main focus on changes to throttling / torque control maps and gearbox control maps.
I think you guys are going to really, really enjoy the throttle difference you will feel with this reflash in ECT and out of ECT. Some of the changes are tailored to ECT mode specifically.

I'll be back a little later to answer questions and see if I can pick through the data to show you guys further some of what is being talked about.

I really think you guys are going to enjoy this. The throttle response changes alone, especially in non ECT mode are very, very noticeable.

Also, only 121-122 at the wheels? Is that right or a typo?

Mid range gains of that percentage are well worth the cost.

So about 2 grand (carbon fiber driveshaft, moderate ECU tune, exhaust, CAI :))), and lightened flywheel) will really enhance the Tacoma's performance. This is excellent.

Eventually a Supercharger will come out. I am quite satisfied with my Tacoma now.

No dyno is 100% accurate, pay not attention the numbers, only focus on the change between baseline and after - tune.

+30 mid Range and associated HP (with mild tune) is disappointing?

Nice work OP! When will you do dyno runs on trucks with modified intakes and exhaust?
