I have been here a month. I have determined in that month that 95% of people's whiny ass problems could have been solved by:
    1. Test driving, identify something they don't like and buying something else or
    2. Going to get their GED or equivalent and using that newfound rudimentary logic to keep problems at a minimum (ie hanging a ton of weight and big ol tires and complaining about mpg, reading about a problem here and going to the dealer to get it fixed before the dealer is equipped to fix it etc)
    3. Quit reading this forum.

Said the 2nd gen owner with a new account and 1 post wishing he had a 3rd gen ......
3rd is just as fast and tows more.
Back of the 2nd gen looks like a 70's station wagon these days. LOL.

Have heard of other 2nd Gen owners that had to install wheelie bars. It's a real thing.

I'm waiting for steadfast to make a video of him burning rubber through an intersection with that load.

This.... this right here. The Toyota isn't a hauling/torque focused truck. Go get one of those if that is what you are after.

Reading the 3rd gen forum for the past two years has really made me appreciate my VQ40DE and 6MT.

Looks like nobody here has towed any significant wt with their gen 2 Tacoma... otherwise they wouldn't have made a childish remark.

Can someone explain to me how the Indy car (with the 2.2 liter) makes 475 extra horsepower than my 3.5 in my "turd" gen?

No, I think the bullshit was on the fact that someone said they can tow that heavy ass load and roast the tires all the way through an intersection.

But you know what as I type this, they probably do burn the tires, as the truck just spins the tires as it can't pull all that. :crapstorm:

Sure I could but it'd be a waste of time. Best solution for more power outside of tune is URD spec u exhaust. Specifically in the low end torque department URD did not disappoint with this pipe. That and a nice cold air intake and either a snorkel or dynamic air scoop to add a second source of clean and fresh air. Those would be your best bet and then tune to take advantage of the increased flow. Between all of that you might be talking 50 more wheel hp putting the taco in the 280 range at the wheels, with a lot of the benefit kicking in throughout the low range, the spec U is tuned for more low range power with equal length headers and deleted rear cats. Not sure how it all works out because it's also quiet and does NOT set off check engine lights, now after over a month of daily driving with the catless pipe, NO simulator, and no o2 sensor spacers. I had to put spacers on back when I had the URD y pipe to avoid CELs but the new spec U doesn't set it off to begin with!

Do you have the spec u exhaust?

I do! Here are links to my Google drive for HQ videos, TW won't allow more than 20mb posts

PS it sounds cheesy without subs but trust me in person or if you have some nice headphones or a amplified speaker setup with a sub listen to it and you can hear more rumble. In person it sounds like a sports car
