Could be your rack and pinion?

Really, really hoping not. Replacing the pump is a messy pain in the ass but at least it's not too costly. If it's the rack, I'm gonna say fuck it and drive it this weekend. I'd never get that replaced by Friday evening!

Yeah I doubt you would. If it helps any my rack that I got from CVJ (OEM reman) was $412 I believe.. under $500 for sure.

Just got done replacing the steering pump. The sound (like two metal spinning discs grinding) during slow turns is gone but there's a lot of creaking noises coming from the rack.

Shitty thing is that I just had steering rack bushings installed a little over a month ago and I started hearing creaking noises as I was driving home from the shop in Auburn so I figured it was because of noisy new poly bushings. The noises never got louder and sometimes they went away. Now I'm guessing it was the rack starting to go bad. It's not leaking at all. Did you install your rack yourself?

Yeah mine was creaking badly. I'll see if I can find the video and send it to you.
I didn't install myself, took mule 4 hours to do. Probably would have taken me 8 lol

I could say I'll have my yota back together by then, but that would be a lie. I can always bring my dirtscooter though!

I'm so tempted to join on bike sometime, but I'd be the biggest slowpoke. After all these years of ownership, I've never really connected up with anyone to get out - all I know is street queens!
I can at least say I'm pretty good at just kind of "going for it" :D
