Haha, that's funny. When they are doing something wrong?? Did you grow up in boarding school or something? Black guys shouldn't marry white girls, cause that's wrong too.

Wrongs are rights are taught. Now don't question the King, cause that's wrong!!

Maybe the best solution is to slowly integrate the reappealing DADT. Similiar to how they opened up career fields to women, may front line combat units can be off limits to gays, while the rest of the military can be open to openly gay members. Once openly gays are in and been around for a few years, the combat units where the resentment towards gays seem to reside will dwindle and this we can open those areas up to gay members. Sometime compromise is the best solution.....

but waiver them to do they job they already do, just b/c they're gay? being gay does not hinder their ability to do the job they are already doing just b/c they are in the open about it. AF waivers are usually for medical reasons, hurt knee, hurt back, etc....i supposed hurt anus could be one, but that could be non-gay too...lol

Something tells me that gays serving in career fields where there's a ton of machismo like Infantry units or SF will still keep it to themselves.

possibly, but it will only breed more internal segregation and division when we are supposed to all be on the same team

I'm not insinuating gays can't do a job; however as this discussion has clearly demonstrated, this topic divides our military members, which in turn effects the mission. Accomplishment of the mission is and will always be the priority, and what will be what determines whether gays can openly serve.

Now back to the joking side of the house...will cases of hemorhoids go up because of gays, and will there be a no sitting waiver.....that will kill the AF...lol

I don't know. As some of the older hats start to retire and our younger folks get promoted, the idea of gays openly serving will dwindle. Our younger generation is more accepting of gays than our older folks. I remeber when President Clinton instituted the DADT policy, and everyone thought the military would crumble; however there was still that don't tell aspect. I really don't know how this will pan out.....I really believe gays can aand will readily be able to do the job, but as a whole in the military, we are not quite there yet as being aceepting to gays openly serving. If not now, I would definitely say by the end of the decade will the DADT policy be removed.

haha....gays in the AF would be required to go through a "proper use of lube" class to keep those cases down

Would you serve next to this guy?
    sure
But wait you didn't ask him if he was gay?
My point is there are tons of gay people in this world and they are not all like elton john. They don't want to have to look around every corner just to serve the country.
If any ones behavior is hindering there and or fellow troops functionaly then they will be handled no matter if you are gay or not.

so you'd rather follow a 5 y/o's philosophy of "out of sight, out of mind". they are already in and you know they are already in, what's the difference?
