Welcome and congrats. I worked in Warren for 9 years. Beautiful area and great people. I moved back home to Punxsutawney, but I still make to Warren once or twice a year. Unfortunately, there are not many members in rural western PA.

LOL and woodchucks. Although I still have most of my teeth. At least the front ones anyhow :p
So you would be on the left hand side of 220 headed up from your way.

Always have a brick of scrapple when I go hunting on the North Shore of Lake Superior. From Leona Meat Plant in Troy.

Barclay's is a strange area in some ways. Being an old coal mining area that was filled back in. No woodchucks or ground dwellers still in most of it. Deer and bear of course. A couple grouse but pretty sure shot the last of them a few years ago :) Used to be Bear day, like doe day, wan't much of a season. People can say what they want about Dr. Gary Alt but there are a hell of a lot more bear than there used to be. Seen more than my share of bobcats there last 10 years too thanks to him. Saw my first bear print there in the 70's and called my grandfather over to look at it saying that it must have been one hell of a large dog. He laughed and set me straight.

Amish, long before Habbersett. Although it has been around for centuries in Europe even before America was known to exist for the Europeans.

Lot of Amish around here so was hoping to be able to get some. Nope. The Hormel SPAM plant is about 50 miles away and every hog is accounted for hundreds of miles around to end up there. Nothing against SPAM, but damn. Even that store made stuff is looking good about now. Leona Meat plant in Troy, Pa. still has the homemade stuff and ships it to me but only in the cooler months. I should have gotten a few more bricks of it before summer hit. :pout:

In the South they add a lot more cornmeal to it and call it livermush. Lived in NC for quite a few years and came to like it. A bit more "tame" than scrapple though.

So the million dollar question is do you put ketchup, maple syrup, or eggs on top of it? Personally I just can't fathom ketchup on scrapple and do syrup (real maple syrup) with a couple of eggs over easy on top. That is when I am living high on the hog :D

Maple syrup is my favorite, but a close second is apple butter. Ketchup only belongs on scrambled eggs.
