I'm not messing with this weekend's traffic. Last week was bad enough. Although, I could leave after dark and just take the John Wayne trail from exit 38 to lost lake turn off. Lots of gates to get out and open/close tho.

 

You could buy my truck which is "done"... then you don't have to worry about any of that.

 

DNR gates? What gates would you open and close?

Actually state park gates. This section is an old railroad grade turned into hiking/biking path. It parallels I90 EB from North bend. All the gate combos are the same and rotate yearly on a very basic and easy to remember method. However it's highly frowned upon/most likely illegal, and I only do it at night when no one is on the trail.

But I have keys to dnr and some other and gov agency gates also.

 

Heard about being able to purchase DNR keys. That true? Haven't looked into it at all..just heard about it last weekend from my boy Mountain Al up on Baker while doing an over nighter. He lived in his trailer out in the sticks. Ended up drinking &a smoking with him all night long.

 

Traffic was super light headed out tonight. My plan is to head back noonish on the 4th, hopefully traffic will be going the other way.

 

Some dnr owned lands allow motorized entry if it is designated as a bear problem area and is usually spring time which coincides with a permit draw spring bear tag for hunters. I believe you need to have that permit to be issued a key by dnr.
